This funny fountain is located in the center of Sturovo square. Vodnik (water sprite) is getting out of the well and spitting water, being surprised where he appeared. The water streams are adjusted in such a way that it looks like it is jumping from one place to another. As the Vodnik is a favorite character of Czech and Slovak fairytales, usually kind and positive one, the fountain is loved by kids. But during my stay in Trencin I saw plenty of adults enjoying it and having a lot of fun too. I also liked it.

When the guide in Executioner's House told me that Parish Stairway served in the past as the fastest way for guild members to get to the castle when it was necessary to defend it I started to be curious and decided to visit it although it was my third walk on the hill that afternoon. And it was a good decision because this wooden covered stairway is really interesting and as a bonus it offers a nice view to the castle through its latticed windows.

This is the old parish church of the city, on the way to the castle (you can use the Parish stairway), gothic style, on a platform with a great panorama to the city of Trencin.
