Hemera Estate

Booked in on a scoopon voucher. Staff were very welcoming and fabulous. Very friendly and had time for a good chat about the wines. Had a great platter and glass of wine for lunch and so impressed with the wines and hospitality we purchased a number of bottles to take home. All in all a very nice experience.

Kies Family Wines

Kies Family Wines is the first cellar door you will visit as you drive over the hill at the Southern end of the Barossa Valley. The 1880's cottage style cellar door is nestled among vineyards and boasts scenes of the glorious rolling Barossa Ranges.

We spent three days touring around the wineries and this one was one of the best. In my opinion, it is best to include lots of smaller boutique wine makers in your tour as they provide a more personal experience. Sam was our guide through all the different ports and wine and he certainly knew what he was talking about. He was highly entertaining too. An asset to Kies Family Wines. We also had a light lunch in the Monkey Nut Café, which was also excellent!

Schild Estate Wines

Schild Estate Cellar Door is the home of our wines and our family. Located in Lyndoch, in the Southern Barossa Valley. All our wines can be enjoyed in the tasting room which is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 10am - 4pm or by appointment. Some wines on tasting can only be purchased from Cellar Door, plus we have regular 'cellar door only' specials. Be served by our experienced and friendly staff and be prepared to share stories with one of our winemakers or Schild family members who are often around.

My partner and I did the VIP Shiraz tasting, and the wines on offer were absolutely delicious. The lovely ladies at Schild Estate were extremely hospitable and knowledgable, and offered some tastes of extra wines not on their Shiraz list to give a more complete understanding of the full Schild Range. Highly recommend a visit while in Barossa.

1847 Wines Chateau Yaldara

The origins of 1847 Wines begin with Bavarian immigrant Johann Gramp, who in 1847 planted the first commercial vineyard in the Barossa Valley. - See more at:

Being surrounded by vintage buildings of a prestigious winery and lovely gardens etc was a photographer's delight as was the tasting session. Good wines, good surrounds and good friends - wonderful. We were the only two in the tasting room at midday Christmas Eve and had the full attention of a very nice young man who managed our tasting. The wines we tasted were excellent, several vintage ports, reds and sparkling reds. Even if you don't drink wine or want to taste any, you must visit 1847 Wines Chateau Tanunda just to see the lovely buildings, gardens and wooden furniture.

This trail is well laid out and offers a trip through the beautiful barossa with plenty of cafes and wineries along the way. There are a couple places where your gears will come in handy but overall suitable for most riders.

Lyndoch Lavender Farm

Reviewed By MarcusLC61 - Adelaide, Australia

My family recently gathered at the Lavender Farm for an informal family lunch to celebrate our father's 95th birthday. The tasting platters of local produce, the wine and desserts were fresh, tasty and well presented. The staff were warm and attentive and especially helpful with the organisation of the event. It's a lovely location, hidden in the foothills of the Barossa Valley, between Williamstown and Lyndoch and not far from the historic Hoffnungsthal settlement (and lagoon). We had a delightful and relaxing day and highly recommend it for a quiet drive and relaxing lunch.
