Well the name doesn’t do it justice ! What a superb two bedroom cottage / bothy? superbly hosted by John and Peta. This is the perfect place to stay in Falkland - we were just two but provided you don’t mind sharing the bathroom would be fine for four. The garden you are invited to use is delightful as are the owners, helpful and to hand, very amiable but never intrusive. The breakfast is just delicious - beautifully presented and enough to feast on all day. We had THE BEST time for four nights on first foray to Scotland for a very very long time, and couldn’t have picked a better base. And of course being on the doorstep of the palace gardens (house closed atm) was icing on the cake

Great well signposted tracks all over the Lomond for every level of walker. Walk East and West Lomond or stay local around Maspie Den, all good.

Beautiful day and scene for a tranquil and peaceful walk. Well sign posted good paths although a little muddy but thoroughly worth it. Back to nature.

Great place for a bit of hiking. Apart from the usual nature and forests, interesting things to see inside the park include Tyndall-Bruce Monument, Bonnet Stone and Maidens Cave. It had rained for a few days when I visited and the tracks do get muddy, so be aware of that and wear walking boots or wellies if necessary.

We visited Falkland due to its connection with Outlander and was blown away with the beauty of the village, a truly fascinating place. The ancient architecture is superb. The Fountain situated in the centre of the village is one of the many attractions to view

Went with my partner and oh my goodness that steak pie was the best I have had in a long time!! Honestly couldn’t fault it, service was amazing, atmosphere was very festive and cosy. Prices were reasonable and great for the quality of food and portion size. We always enjoy coming here for a meal! Eamonn and chef were very accommodating as we were so full after the starters and main and were able to take the rest of the main away with us and a couple of deserts which they packaged up to enjoy later in the day. Could not fault it, definitely the place to go.
