Westport Winery is our favorite place to go for wine tasting, a late lunch and a couple bottles of wine for gifts and ourselves. Every item we have tried from the menu has been excellent and we love the wines. the service has always been excellent and friendly for a casual afternoon visit. They truly deserve the awards they have won. We have been driving there from Longview several times a year since they opened 13 years ago.

I really just wanted to get a picture of the mural on the side of the building but Dan happened to be out front and started talking to us. What a character! We ended up going in the shop and it was a hodge podge of everything Star Wars. There was also other stuff here and there. Dan had even made a Pizza the Hut out of real pizza. The guy is a nut. If you are into Star Wars you have to check this place out. Highly recommend.

Aberdeen was not on the way of our road-trip this summer but we decided to make a 100+ km detour to see Cobain's house, the bridge under which he was hanging around with his friends etc. It was worth it and I would highly reccoment it, along with his house in Seattle in front of which there are two memorial benches full of fans' notes. Really authentic and emotional experience, even if you are not a huge fan of Nirvana.

This is probably the best place around to buy fresh oysters. Their annual oyster feed is a real experience. A nominal admission buys you an open air all you can eat meal of clam chowder, oyster stew, slaw, soft drink, bread and the best oysters you will ever taste. We try to attend every year. This year it rained and we were going to eat and run rather than hang out in the weather, but when we had our first plate of oysters and cup of oyster stew we decided to stay and pig out and worry about wet clothes later. This is truly gourmet country for the oyster lover.
