Roughhouse Brewing is a family-run craft brewery located on 5 acres of the Pasternak family ranch just south of Wimberley. Focusing on farmhouse ales, Roughhouse offers a lineup of dry, crisp, refreshing beers to enjoy on a hot Texas day! The brewery and taproom is housed in a wooden barn with plenty of shady outdoor seating (indoor access limited during COVID-19). The facility is pet- and kid-friendly and offers a full menu of scratchmade food using ingredients primarily sourced from Texas producers. Come visit the brewery and taproom, open every weekend, Thursday through Sunday. Draught beers and bottles to-go are available for purchase, along with wine, cider and non-alcoholic options sourced from other Texas providers. Visit our website for up-to-date hours and event information.
Great location off the beaten path. Lovely knowledgeable servers, lofted overlook to brewery that’s perfect for private parties, outside venue to include live music, picnic tables adjacent to fun games #cornhole. Great beer stop!

First, I enjoy exploring new restaurants and foods… Second, I can vouch for a local restaurant… Not to mention, I can attest to a multitude of creature comforts on a local restaurant menu. Third, I appreciate and respect the ingenuity of local craftsmanship. Above all, I cannot wait to meet you!
I am a proud San Diegan, born in Mexico and raised both in Baja and California. I love nature and new experiences. Always in the look for adventure and new places to eat. I go to Mexico often so I know a lot of places to visit in Ensenada and Tijuana.
We have been in the restaurant and food beverage business for over 20 years! We have been in the craft brew business for five years, and we are excited to show off three great breweries in historic downtown San Marcos, with a short walking tour including murals, beer tastings, and a great narrative about San Marcos.
