My wife and I attended a dinner prepared by Chef Ty Kotz last week. This was a multi course dinner prepared for a party of 8, made from fresh ingredients right in front of us. Dinner included appetizers (made in front of us, one by one, including zesty and delicious snapper ceviche (local and freshly caught), kale salad bursting with flavors of dried blueberries, pecorino romano, topped off with toasted almonds, soup made from several types of squash (I usually avoid soup, but inhaled every molecule of this one) , and an entree of prime standing rib roast, flown in for the occasion from New York, with sides of sautéed peppered local, large succulent shrimp, as well as fried small Yukon gold potatoes, and roasted mushrooms {several varieties} . The infused potatoes were slightly smashed and then fried to crispy goodness and finished off with garlic infused extra virgin olive oil. Desert was a fabulous Creme Brule.... Yummmmm. The Dinner was arguably the best meal of our adult life. Not only was the food incredibly delicious, but the friendly entertaining method of presentation and preparation, highly skilled, yet open to questions made for an evening to remember. Chef Ty is a master, who makes the difficult look easy, always a mark of great experience. I hope others take an opportunity to have a similar experience, well worth remembering.
