French immigrant Sylvie and her late husband have owned the French Corner Bistro for many years. In a small restaurant in a strip mall on Okeechobee Boulevard, they created a local outpost for French cuisine and culture. The summer special offers soup or salad and dessert and the main entree for the price of the entree alone. It is a super deal if you can eat all of it, which is not easy. The home-made split pea soup was outstanding, along with the goat cheese salad. My wife ordered one, I ordered the other and we shared both. We both ordered the incredible crispy duck with sides of spinach and potatoes. Both of us had profiteroles for dessert. A super meal for a modest price.

Want a charming repast that's miles different from your usual South Florida fare? High tail it to high tea at Serenity. Housed in a charming historic cottage in West Palm Beach, decorated in thrift shop chic, and serving up homemade treats, Serenity is not just for the Downton crowd (though there were plenty of them there enjoying themselves during my recent visit). Our party of three had high tea, which started with individual pots of tea (your choice from an exquisite, extensive list) snuggled in tea cozies. You get a little sand timer to let you know when your beverage is sufficiently brewed! Next, a cup of homemade soup (our selections were tomato basil or pear sweet potato, which I can't recommend strongly enough) Then, a tree tier tea, with hot from the oven scones, a variety of finger sandwiches, and a plate of sweet treats. Service was charming, and all in all, great value. Absolutely fabulous!

For years, we've thought of CJP as the best restaurant in Palm Beach and we've never had anything we didn't enjoy. Staff stays forever and service is terrific under watchful owner eyes. Last night I had smoked salmon and then boudin blanc.....terrific. Dale had Dover sole.....also terrific. For dessert we all shared profitaroles.

Recommendations for Renatoâs came from our wonderful hotel as well as another couple we met during our stay. The reviews online were mixed, but generally very good Palm Beach is definitely quiet this time of year so we easily got a table. We had one waiter/mgr in a suit who was wonderful. Charming and attentive, but our regular waiter, not so much. I honestly felt as tho we were an inconvenience for him. A bit sarcastic and kept recommending the most expensive items on the menu. We noticed a pattern from the wine suggestions to the entrees. What was really odd is that our entrees were served literally 6 minutes after we ordered. Now I realize the restaurant wasnât âpackedâ but it was still quite busy. For a $35 and up entree, I wanted to feel as though it was âpreparedâ and not just heated up. We were so looking forward to a good Italian meal. Food was fair- and maybe because Iâm 100% Italian- I found it to be sub par and quite salty. Our side of sautéed spinach seemed boiled and without the delicious oil/garlic flavor you would expect. The worst part was that every time we put down our utensils, the waiter would ask if we were through. We paid $115 or dinner for two with only a glass of wine each-no apps, no sides, no desserts, and we felt rushed the entire time. Luckily it was a beautiful night and patio was a nice touch. But rally tough to recommend :(

Just got back from one of the best "single diner" experiences I have had. My waitress, Theresa was attentive but not overbearing. Her suggestions were great. The food was wonderful. I love the little plates. Ambiance was like Paris bistros where I have eaten. Just sorry I don't live here because I would definitely be a regular.Thank you, Kathryn! Hope to see you again on your next visit back to WPB!

Spent the day nursing a hangover and weâre eating foods like we were College kids from Minnesota that were scared of the opposite sex..greasy burgers and fries. We did everything to soak up the alcohol and relieve ourselves from the taste of regret and shame. That evening we ended up here and were blown away on how kind the staff was and how incredibly amazing the food was. The food was extremely fresh and presented in a very palatable way on each plate. Will go back 100% percent!! Will make a visit here every time we go on vacation â¤ï¸
