My family of 6 adults were visiting family in Sicily. We wanted to learn to cook authentic Sicilian cuisine, and Annalisa was The Best instructor. We had a last minute change, due to a leg injury the day before, and Annalisa was great about rearranging our time with her. She has so much energy and passion, not only for cooking, but the quality of the ingredients. That passion was infectious, and we had a blast making the pasta, and all the dishes. One person even made a whale of his pasta, and in a flash, Annalisa was posting it and showing it off on her channel. It was a fun, and delicious experience.

CIDMA: Mafia and Anti-Mafia Center Guided Visits

This was one of my favorite experiences in Sicily. Rather than a museum, this is a guided tour explanation with a very well prepared guide. Our guide, Nina took us on a very eye-opening guided tour and showed us a collection of photos (some of them graphic) that were taken during an extremely violent period of Sicilian history in the second half of the 20th century. She is very knowledgeable and provided great explanations and answers to our questions. She is very passionate and spoke to the importance of the topic of the Mafia in present-day Sicily. I would say if one wants to understand Sicily, they must visit this collection and learn of this part of the islands history. Come with an open, curious mind and with questions that Nina will be very happy to answer.
