Discover Restaurants offering the best Diner food in Anchorage, Alaska, United States. Set amid the coastal Chugach Mountains, Anchorage defies popular visions of polar ice caps and frozen tundra. It’s also warmer than you think (averaging 65 degrees in summer), making conditions ideal for sight-seeing or taking on uniquely Alaskan opportunities like arctic biking or touring the fjords of Prince William Sound. In the winter, you can ski, dogsled or do both simultaneously by "skijoring," which is cross-country skiing while being towed by a dog. Hey, it's no crazier a winter sport than the biathlon.

This restaurant has been around for many many years. Although itâs a little dated the great food and friendly staff make it well worth going to. I canât comment on the lunch food because we only order breakfast because itâs so good. I personally recommend the Cajun fried steak and eggs. The perfect amount spice. Their buttermilk pancakes are the best Iâve had in years. The place isnât very big and they only except cash but itâs worth it.

Love this place for breakfast primarily. Located on Old Seward south of Huffman, itâs one of the best breakfast spots in town. Quite possibly the best diner style restaurant in town. Southside Special is my go to everytime. Ladies are always warm and friendly. Food is always right and served as ordered including deep frying the breakfast potatoes as requested. Limitless coffee that theyâre always happy to fill. This breakfast will get me through the day.

We stopped in here for breakfast after reading thru trip advisor reviews about it being a favourite amongst the locals. Itâs easy to see why! Itâs a very homey restaurant, very welcoming, staff seem genuinely happy and offer exceptional service, the food is homemade and absolutely delicious. We had diced ham and scrambled eggs with home fries and a country breakfast special. The servings were very generous. It cost around $25.

I was a little nervous when I walked in but the halibut sandwich was excellent. Do not be thrown off by the fact this is a diner type place to eat.

Been several years since I have eaten there and the facility was dated, needed to be freshened, had to ask to be moved from booth to table due to feeling like the table was in your stomach. The Salad was a bit warm and not real crisp and the BLT was soggy

We went to Kriner's for dinner one night while in Anchorage. The food was okay and the service was acceptable. Portions were big and we actually brought leftovers back to our hotel for snack. Kriner's is a bit out of the way if you don't have a car, but I think it cost us about $25 with tips in Uber transportation.

We are a landmark restaurant in the heart of Anchorage. Opened in 1955. 63 years in business and still going strong. Best pan-fried chicken and hand-pattied hamburgers. And don't forget the milkshakes; they are the best!! try our Fresh Frozen strawberry o
This is one of the famous place to eat in Anchorage, they started to fry chicken since 1955, and the chicken is good in size, not huge. The potato chips are well cooked, try their milkshake and it tastes excellent. Most of the time it is crowded especially in weekend, but their service is fast and the staffs are really nice.
