Sure, Vatican City is tiny—110 acres—but it houses the world's largest Catholic church (St. Peter's Basilica) and has perhaps the best collection of artistic masterpieces in the world (the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo's Pieta, the Laocoon Group, etc.). And maybe only 800 people live here, but one of them's the Pope. It's a pretty good argument for quality over quantity.

This place is a great stop for wine tasting and wine/food pairings. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. When I am in Rome I typically look for places serving good old traditional food but this time decided to try a few places doing a new take on Italian food. I was pleasantly surprised. Since I am 'older' I worried I would feel out of place but the warmth and friendliness of the staff eliminated that worry.

I expected a wonderful experience from this restaurant, based on the reviews. But it was disappointing. To be fair, the interior is warm and nicely decorated. And the serving staff was friendly. But we were seriously rushed on our service, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Courses were served before we had even finished eating the previous course. And 2 of the 3 courses that we ate were bland (the eggplant balls and the veal scallopini. On the plus side, the wine selection was very good. Overall, most unfortunate.

Premium paninis served on the finest french baguettes - pastries - beverages - juices
We came here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the warm hospitality and fantastic quality of food. In a great location close to the pantheon and for a very respectable price. The gentleman who worked behind the counter could not be more helpful and was able to communicate in a number of languages. Thank you for having us - from Scotland!

Very near to the Vatican Walls, inside the Daedalus of the beautiful Borgo Pio Neighborhood, you'll find Makasar. You can eat good food hearing nice playlist of ambient/lounge music drinking beers, wines or rare spirits. Owners are friendly and if you spend time during the day, this place can be a very good stay even for working. Maybe it's a little bit difficult to find but the search will be rewarded. Gorgeous example of a restaurant that is focused one thing and does it amazingly well. Gorgeous pasta. We tried the lasagna, gnocchi, carbonara, squid ink, pesto, ragi and all were absolutely heavenly. Was so good we came here twice. Just a short walk from Vatican City.

Itâs a perfect place for the people who like tasty sandwiches with fresh ingredients cooked fast. To be well satisfied be sure that your wishes are transferred to the barman before you got the order;) we came here on the October 17-th, 2019 expecting itâs a fastfood and was not disappointed! It was the best panini ever (Parma and Modena, coka cola and beer - â¬14 in total for two persons). The barman was very positive and friendly, he take care of you needs cooking from the heart and his please keeping it clean. At the end weâve got a compliment from the barman and I would say that it is one of the thing needs to be tasted. Do not listen feedbacks from the people who visited this place thinking itâs a restaurant and was disappointed! I recommend.
