The Whitehall Theatre is one of the jewels in Dundee's cultural crown. The theatre has stood proudly in the city for almost 100 years, initially built as a cinema, the venue as we now know it came into existence in the 1960's and has provided the city with a home of entertainment ever since. The theatre is around a 10 minute walk west of the city centre, situated across from The University of Dundee, just off the Hawkhill. The theatre plays host to music acts, musicals, comedians, dance troupes and so much more.
This is a magical Theatre with the acoustics to match. Considering it has been saved from closing they are pulling in tribute acts and big names . It’s great to see it so full. I have more recently been back and although it can do with a bit of refurbishment I’m sure that will come as the profits get better. We went to ELO again and what an absolutely brilliant show this was. The music the singing and sheer entertainment from the group we had a fantastic night. We had also booked for Queen Rhapsody and went there tonight . What a huge disappointment that was. The crowd carried this band. Some you win some you lose but I’m sure the organisers will get there in the end. It’s Parky next weekend. Hopefully that goes well. But what a revival for this theatre. Things can only get better

Not a bad seat in the house! Great intimate venue, with decent bar facilities (as it is within a college it also has lots of space and toilets to accomodate the audience), and lots of safe free car parking. Saw the Panto (Snow WHite) - many a chuckle and good fun!
