Checking out the reviews we thought this would be perfect for casual lunch with out of town guests. We could not finish our meals. Tasted like reheated rice with heavy overpowering sauces. Other than that, they have âcounter orderingâ with delivery to your table. Seating inside for 40-50 and a nice shaded patio. We wonât return.
Panda Express: a safe and reliable place to by very good food at a moderate price. We've been Panda visitors all over California and Hawaii (and neighboring states) but we hadn't tried our own local franchise before today. The noodles were thin and not over-cooked, the veggies were crisp and flavorful and the colors were so bright and inviting. We think the manager (or owner) may have been there tonight as we called out info to the cook and staff in such an authoritative way. The restaurant was so very clean and the refrigerated wall of see-through glass had the various stored bins of fresh veggies on display. We hadn't seen that presentation before; it was a work of art (and very inviting and enticing). This stand-alone business is quite roomy inside. We bought teriyaki chicken, mushroom chicken, and the spicy fire chicken and had, as our sides, veggies and noodles. Everything was perfectly cooked and the teriyaki chicken had a nice crispy char-grilled preparation. Someone takes a great deal of pride in this business and it shows. I would have paid twice as much (and, in the past elsewhere, I am sure I have) for food of this quality. We are never disappointed with our orders from Panda Express but this particular location exceeded our expectations on all levels. My loss for having taken so long to get myself over here.

New Chinese restaurant. The good, soup, entrees we ordered we good. Not enough help. When we walked in most of the tables had dirty plates on them. The one waiter was taking orders, taking credit cards and taking care of to go orders. If the front end looks like this what does the kitchen look like, hope they clean up their act.

It is really hard to find decent Chinese food let alone exceptional. This was one of the better places in 39 states where weâve eaten Chinese. I can make it myself and do, but sometimes I just crave the restaurant experience. We were pleasantly surprised here. The hot and sour soup was the best Iâve had in a long time. It actually had lily buds in it. So rare. If it had wood ears this place probably would have gotten five stars. The pot stickers were also very good. The two dishes we ordered were ok. Not fantastic but good. The vegetables were crisp. I recommend this restaurant and would definitely return because it is a lot better than most.âââ

This is a little family owned, local place in Oro Valley. Friendly staff and good food, with a decent wine/beer list. I love the kung pao chicken, and have had a number of other dishes that are good too. I recommend this place.

We were visiting relatives north of Tucson, in the Catalina Foothills, and wanted some Thai food for dinner. The Grain River Asian Bistro is tucked into a small, nondescript shopping center on N. Oracle Road, just north of Oro Valley. The owners are originally from Taiwan, so I suspect the Chinese food may be better. We tried the Thai and shared two chicken dishes among the three of us: a Pad See Ew and a Thai-style cashew chicken. The preparation was unimaginative and the food lacked much in the way of spice and flavor. It wasn't bad, but not good enough for a repeat visit. Service was fine and the atmosphere suitable for dining, but nothing special.Thank you for your advice; our food is prepared for people who looking for healthier, and lighter styles. If you prefer or are looking for heavier or stronger tastes of sauces, we can accommodate that if you ask for it; however, if you simply don't like our style of cooking, there is always other places you can go to. We appreciate your patronage.

Only my second visit to GMG. Had lunch with ladies' group. Very sweet waitress & attentive. All enjoyed their lunches. Many of us took home leftovers. Lunch includes soup, spring roll, rice choice & main dish. I liked the shape of the plate with a special space for the dipping sauce. Must return to try Sesame Chicken so many raved about.
