Hopefully this place will go the way of many long standing local Chinese restaurants and become the "go to" for the monthly family Chinese. It's small, family run and they're happy to have you. The portion sizes for eat in are quite large compared to some I've experienced. All Chinese cooks have their own take on the staple favourites, but the sweet and sour, salt and pepper dishes we had were great. The special fried rice was as good as the best in China Town. Being suburban and local, it's BYO and don't expect fine dining or brilliant decor, though the mural on the walls adds a nice touch. Do expect a family atmosphere and honest food.

Tucked round the back of a shopping centre, the restaurant may seem a little unimpressive, but don't let the location or traditional decor put you off-the food here is deserving of a much more central location and each of the meals we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented on the plate. Often we have found Chinese food on the Gold Coast to be a bit 'so-so', but not this place. The staff were friendly and helpful, the chef obviously cooks with love, and all in all I have nothing to say but thanks for a great meal. We will definitely be back for more.

I used to like this place, but it's really gone downhill in the last year. I tend to order take away, have eaten in once in the last 6 mths. The service when I ate in was very slow. The last couple of times I ordered take away it was late, but the last time was ridiculous - 1h 15mins wait for takeaway (they said on the phone they were busy and to come in 1/2 hour). They had me pay as soon as I arrived so I couldn't leave and had to wait. Ubereats orders kept going out and I kept waiting! The waiting area was packed with people waiting for orders, all getting quite annoyed. They should have been honest and gave a more accurate idea of wait time when I ordered, or even had a period where they stopped taking orders so they could catch up. I have been a loyal customer for years, but I'll never waste my time with Good Choice again.

Mr Liangs is still our favourite Chinese restaurant. We moved from Helensvale but still come back for Mr Liangs excellent food. Great value for money. 10 locals cannot be wrong, driving from surfers to Helensvale for Chinese meal. Give it a try. Highly recommended. Thank you Mr Liang for another excellent meal.

We have been here a couple of times and always have a good meal. Service is always very attentive and the bowl of lollies at the ens is a nice touch.The food here is good but a bit on the expensive side for a small suburban Chinese restaurant. The menu is huge and to be quite honest a bit overwhelming maybe a smaller, 'less family album' style would be a good start.Overall this is a good restaurant with good food, it's just a little different than most.
