The town is situated on the banks of the river Oude Rijn (Old Rhine), where the river Gouwe branches off. The municipality had a population of 109,449 in 2017, and covers an area of 132.49 km (51.15 sq mi) of which 5.91 km (2.28 sq mi) is water.

Wat een fantastisch leuk winkeltje. De oudere man en vrouw nemen ruim de tijd om je te helpen met allerlei voedingswaren. Voor een paar dubbeltjes heb je fantastische kruiden. Het is fijn om hier iets te kopen !

For many many years this Chinese Restaurant in Alphen aan de Rijn has been my rescue at times I am craving for a good bite. Have tried many of their dishes in the restaurant and as 'take away'. But all time favorite for me still is the 'Loempia Speciaal'. Try it!

Het is een beetje onze stam-chinees. We komen er al jaren. De all you can eat is altijd top. Lekker hapjes eten en goede porties. Aan de vijfde ronde komen we meestal niet toe. Bediening is altijd leuk en ze zijn in voor een geintje. Ook rond de feesten leuke aanbiedingen en altijd een toffe maandaanbieding.

Ni Hao, under new management, completely refurbished the older Chinese restaurant (only manitained the name) Probably one of the finest Asian restaurants in this part of the world. just fantastic. Also the food choice is great: a tremendous choice of Sushi, well-prepared Teppanyaki including fish, shrimp, steak, chicken etc. next to a Chinese-Indonesian buffet . All included except drinks for only ⬠15,50 (weekend price) This restaurant is a must when you live in, or come to Alphen aan den Rijn region.

This floating restaurant is beautiful on the outside and has a nice decor inside. We had a combination meal that was very good. Service was excellent. Like many tourist places, the prices were on the high side. It is a nice place for a couple, but not so good for a family with children.

Een gezellig Chinees familie restaurant met goed eten. Via Groupon de Kota Radja en Chinees rijsttafels gekozen en lekker gegeten. Staat midden in een woonwijk, maar voldoende parkeerplek rondom het restaurant.
