The restaurant is located in the old center of Groznjan, historic location. They have tables inside or outside. They offer various local dishes as typical Istrian homemade pasta with truffles, ham, cheese, vegetable soup, meat, etc. The portions are normal size, the waiter was very nice and the place is dog friendly. We had homemade pasta with truffles, I missed more real, fresh truffles grated on top of the pasta.

The most known restaurant serving truffles year around
We were staying in a villa just five minutes away from Zigante, and knowing it is famous for its truffle dishes, our group of eight decided to go for a special experience. The "Royal Prestige" six-course tasting menu with wine pairings costs 1195 kuna (about CAD $245 per person). The six courses, plus amuse bouche, intermezzi between each course, and dessert adds up to a lot of food, and it took four hours! The level of service is really amazing, with white gloves and multiple serving staff delivering every plate at once. Every dish except dessert has truffles (and dessert was the only thing I didn't really like). We had some fantastic wine pairings, including several premium Croatian wines. We had one vegetarian person, and one gluten-free person in our group and accommodations were no problem at all. The presentation of every dish was superb, on Zigante's gorgeous custom-design ceramic tableware. It was a long and expensive evening, but we have no regrets. It was a very special experience.

We had the local beef pasta. It was delicious! Kids were also well catered for too. Our fussy 13 year old had grilled chicken straight off the fire! The outside balcony has a lovely view, although as it as so busy we had to eat inside!

The tavern Dolina, in the small Istrian village Gradinje, near mythical Motovun, is an ideal place to enjoy a home-cooked Istrian cuisine, unspoiled nature and perfect for an escape from the everyday bustle, noise and stress. It is only a kilometer from t
This family owned, traditional Istrian restaurant is located near the river Mirna valley, surrounded by beautiful greenery. They offer typical Istrian meals (fuži, njoki, pljukanci pasta... with mushrooms, wild board, homemade sausages) and they sure know how to make them exquisite and the same goes for the homegrown tomato salad! The terrace is small so in the summer make sure to make a reservation. The staff is very warm but can be a bit too pushy, checking too often whether everything is ok.

Had a lovely welcome dinner here before a walking holiday at the end of August. Itâs a great terrace spot with amazing views and very good service from an attentive but on obtrusive waiter who spoke excellent English. We all had homemade pasta : two with truffles and one with sardines which was amazing washed down with the house (tap) wine which was surprisingly good ! We all had local desserts afterwards to round off a nice evening then out through the shop.
