Reviews on Central European food in Gandria, Lugano, Swiss Alps. Gandria is both a quarter of the city of Lugano in the Swiss canton of Ticino, and a village, on the northern shore of Lake Lugano, which forms the core of that quarter. Until 2004, the quarter of Gandria was an independent municipality, joining with Lugano in that year.

100% swiss craft beer bar & local cousine restaurant Ideal for cheers with friends, informal dinners, business lunches and much more
For over a year Il Fermento has been my go-to pub during the weekend to enjoy tasty craft beers and especially their seasonal offers. The place is great during the summer given its nice view on the lake, but even during the winter they have a heated terrace where you can enjoy your drinks without freezing.Beers are very good (although I have had better I gotta be honest), but they have a wide choice, good-looking food (never had it yet though),and I like the complimentary peanuts which are very addictive.Staff is a hit-and-miss; sometimes really great and friendly, sometimes it takes ages to get your order. There is a big turnaround of staff in general.Overall this is the only bar I go to, since I rather spend a big more for something of quality whenever i go out and then this is your place.

An elegant restaurant, a vibrant steakhouse, an exquisite wine bar and a luxury cocktail lounge make of CianiLugano an experience bound to enthral your senses. In the very heart of the city, between the Palazzo dei Congressi and the lakefront, a pleasant
avoid this place if you want to enjoy good food in a quiete surrounding. In this restaurant the noice level makes it difficult to have a normal conversation without screaming. However, the quality of food is good (expecially meet) and also the service is friendly and competent.Dear n0rbert07,to begin with, thank you for being our guest and for having found time for dedicating us this review which, as every feedback does, gives us hints that are extremely useful for improving our service to the customer.Yes, the format of our restaurant/bar is: a metropolitan atmosphere in the quiet Canton of Ticino, a crowded place with music, good food, beverage, stylish design and good service. We never say we do something different than this, so why give us 3* / 5 just for the "noise" (which one can feel immediately, entering the place), while you say that everything else was valuable? However, we would be happy to have you again as guest on the quieter days (lunch-time, wed-fri-sat at dinner) in the part of the environment farther from the entrance/lounge bar, which is more protect from crowd and music, and offer you prosecco and coffee. Please tell us when: it would be an honor to show you again the good parts of our hospitality recipe.Best regards

My husband booked us a table at this charming grotto for a Sunday lunch whilst we were staying in the Induna Olona area. Although we have travelled in the area a number of times, we hadn't experienced a genuine 'grotto' - and what a delightful experience it turned out to be. We were seated at the end of a large, communal dining bench, under a pergola heavy with vines. An olive wood board of exquisitely rustic charcuterie arrived - and rapidly disappeared... as did a bottle of the local red wine, which we drank from small pottery cups, grotto-style. Mains were perfectly grilled cuts of pork and lamb from the barbecue. Grotto del Cavic was packed with families enjoying their Sunday lunches - it was a wonderful atmosphere in a very pretty setting and the food was superb. It also made a welcome change from some of the region's more formal, finer dining restaurants.

A friend who is resident in Lugano introduced us to this well-known lakeside restaurant within a very established, some say stuffy, hotel in Lugano. The terrace view is great and we enjoyed an avocado salad, the vegetarian lasagna, and well-prepared salmon. Service was professional but perfunctory. Prices are on the high side, but this is Lugano, Switzerland. We ate well and enjoyed the view.

Enjoying an evening at the Restaurant of Villa Principe Leopoldo is an experience that should be tried at least once in a lifetime. Sit at tables set with linen, silver and crystal and let yourself be seduced and conquered by the sincere and passionate cu
The restaurant is a special place with view on the Lugano Lake and the Mountains. Staff are attentive with impeccable service. The food is high-quality, well- cooked and displayed. The atmosphere is very pleasant with live-music piano and Sunset; romantic...We do appreciate the recommendations for the wine and personalization for the meat cooking and fruit dessert. We recommend this restaurant as a best one in Lugano.Valet service.Dear Guest Gaihera, we want first of all to thank you heartfully for your review and for dedicating time to write and share it on Tripadvisor.Your words compensate for the efforts of all the staff. We are very happy to read that everything was perfect and enjoyable. Egregi signori, vi scrivo perché volevo pubblicare sulla home page la chiusura del ristorante per ferie dal 04/08 al 25/08. In attesa di una vostra risposta porgo distinti saluti
This small restaurant, with just 1 waitress and delicious food, is definitely worth a stop on your visit to Lugano/Paradiso. We enjoyed a delicious and very reasonably priced meal here. This is a cosy restaurant with the feel of a country inn, there are a few tables in each room, so do call ahead for a reservation. We had the grilled lambchops and there were mouth wateringly delicious!!!!

We took the walk along the lake to Gandria and came upon this little cafe by the lake that was the only one open on Boxing Day. To our delight we were warmly received and had a very pleasant lunch. The food was simple but well cooked and reasonably priced.
