You don't be sympathetic to the German side of WWI to be moved by the cemetery at Fricourt. It is enormous containing the remains of more than 17,000 soldiers who died in the area during the Battle of the Somme. Unlike the Commonwealth cemeteries, the German cemetery at Fricourt is stark - the crosses are black and the entire cemetery shaded by trees. It's definitely worth stopping by if you're touring the various battlefield sites and cemeteries if only to be able to get a real contrast. There's space for about three cars to park across the road.
