Canada's newest and northernmost arctic capital incorporates the traditional practices of its native Inuit communities into the fast-growing metropolitan infrastructure. Nowhere is this more apparent than in Nunavut’s Legislative Assembly building in downtown Iqaluit, a 3-story edifice that integrates Inuit motifs in its modern design, or the igloo-shaped Anglican cathedral. Stone monuments like inukshuks and inunnguaqs guide travelers to the spectacular tundra surrounding the city.

A great place for a fairly quick lunch...not the place to sit back and spend the evening, but the food is fine.

The first time we tried the Frob the spaghetti was gluey and tasteless and the service was poor. The second time we were guests at the hotel and I tried to call for room service. After an hour of calling with no answer I called the front desk to see if the restaurant was open. I was assured they were and I was told to leave a message. We were guests at the hotel for over a week. I never did get a call back or my burger. The last time I went with a group of ladies on a Wednesday evening. The two bottles of wine we were served were off. After that the service deteriorated. The Frob dinner menu is combined with the breakfast and lunch menus. A couple of members of our group mistakenly asked for items from the lunch menu. Our server was clearly fed up with us at this point and we were told âbreakfast for breakfast, lunch for lunch and dinner for dinnerâ in an unpleasant tone. Iâve heard this from other people in the community. If the menu is confusing to multiple guests maybe management should think about separating the menus. Overall 3 pretty disappointing experiences.

This is a hopping place on a weeknight! We arrived just after 5 and despite how large it is, it was tough to find a table. The service was good, especially considering how busy it was. If you are a southerner like me there is one item on the menu that had more traditionally northern food. Otherwise, the menu is full of your typical pub food found the world over. I can understand that the locals want to eat something different than what they may eat a lot of at home (just like us southerners will eat go to Thai and Indian restaurants instead of always eating traditional Canadian foods). As a tourist though, Iâd like a few more options so I could try northern fare that I can get down south.

Our group of 12 (in town volunteering for Habitat for Humanity) visited with a reservation, and no one in the group found anything to complain about. Service was quick and very friendly, and water glasses refilled often (one of our measures of good service). Between us we had the char, the char burger, the frob burger, seafood mac and cheese, braised beef rib, lamb shank, french onion soup, watermelon salad, the prime rib dip, and duck flatbread. The presentation was excellent and everybody raved about everything. Yes, the prices were higher, but finding this kind of quality in Iqaluit was a surprise! The group is already taking about a possible return visit.......

We provide good eats and portions at good prices especially here in Iqaluit. Most everything is made here in house from raw ingredients. we are quite new still and have been having great success and very positive feed back on product and service!! Thanks
I know it is an odd thing to say about a BBQ place, but they really do have good pizza. The BBQ is also quite tasty. Service is really friendly and quite helpful.

This is by far best restaurant in town. The food is as good as at a nice restaurant in the south.Entrees include primarily steaks and seafood. It'll cost $60-$70 for an entree, but that's the north. The Sunday brunch us really good. It's $40 for the buffet, but they make fresh waffles and omelettes, and have a ton of good food.Reservations are needed for brunch and often for weekend evenings.
