What a find! Kind of an out-of-the-way location, but well worth the search. These folks have it down as far as vegan food is concerned. So many options, and they even make their own seitan. The vegan among us was thrilled, the vegetarian too, and the folks new to vegan food thoroughly enjoyed their dinners and plan to return.

Sneakers features the absolute best breakfast sandwich I have ever tasted (egg, turkey sausage, arugula and red pepper mayo on a brioche bun) and the tastiest french toast (made with a kahlua batter). Both are very well priced, the sandwich coming with excellent breakfast potatoes and the french toast with 2 eggs. How to choose? Don't! My suggestion is to have the sandwich with a single slice of the french toast on the side. And the coffee is fantastic too
WOW! What a beautiful place, with amazingly crafted and displayed array of chocolates, wonderful hot drinks (coffees, hot chocolate, etc.) and I understand they all offer breakfast sandwiches and the like (I had eaten elsewhere and was in desert mode!). Chatted with one of the owners, very friendly. A real find in the Islands, can't wait to return!Loved having you. Come on back when in town.

Locally themed cafe in the heart of South Hero; Ever changing menu offering seasonal harvests from local farmers and purveyors.
We went for dinner on a Saturday night. I had the Tuna and my husband had the pork. Both were excellent. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was full and all food is prepared fresh to order.

Overall the food we had for breakfast was average. Everything was good quality, but just ordinary in taste. I guess with all the rave reviews, we were expecting more. However, the staff was fantastic. Everyone from the waitress, to the hostess, to the bus girl :-)

Firebird has been an established restaurant for many years. The food is quick and casual. One orders at the counter and the meal is brought to your table. It's been a long while since I dined there because my daughter had worked there years back, so I had knowledge about the questionable food prep standards. This time I ordered huevos rancheros. I confirmed with the gal that it came with poached eggs, yet it arrived as over-easy. The meal was good, but swatting flies was not. I ate with my right hand and swatted with my left. There is possible good news, as this restaurant moving to a new location at Five Corners, about 1.5 miles east on Rte. 15. FYI, this owner owns The Nest coffee shop at Five Corners as well. I have not been there, for obvious reasons. See my photo of the Huevos Rancheros.
