Jones cafe bistro is a family run restaurant at the heart of clarendon park.serving breakfast, lunch, alacarte, fresh fish, homemade dessert's, slices.
First time at Jones's, wasn't too sure what to expect, a lot of different reviews, breakfast, lunch, dinner menus etc. hence it's a café bistro.7:30 Saturday night, first impressions, it's a bit dark and I thought they'd be more people, it didn't really fill up while we were there, maybe that's the atmosphere that was lacking. The menu is also a little random, trying to cover a lot of bases with everything it's offering.I struggled to find something I really fancied, went for lasagne in the end, it was very tasty. All in all it was ok, not too sure i'll hurry back, try somewhere else, as you do.Value and service were all ok, 3.5 stars really. The website menu can be tricky to find as well.

Freshly prepared food , family and wheelchair friendly , partys welcome family run .Independent.
This is an eclectic little place at the back of the Highcross. The staff are friendly if slow. The portions are large. But we waited for over 45 minutes for our lunch which isn't great when you only get an hour. The veggie breakfast was ok but I had to scoff it down super quick which made it far less enjoyable.Thank you for your review. We make everything fresh to order and as a small business there is usually just one member of staff in the kitchen. We do endeavour to get all orders out as quickly as we can. Feel free to ring ahead to place your order if that would help!

A lovely tea room in the centre of Leicester that has a wide menu for brunch and lunch.
Our server Cat was super friendly and really helpful. The menu here has so many exciting options and she was super informative on all of them. A real hard worker. Fantastic place to go. Good food, good drinks and a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend a visit.

Visited on a flying visit to Leicester to see my daughter and we went to Grays and what a great little cafe kitchen it is. Plenty of space, clean, tidy and attentive staff it is a lovely place to eat, drink or just hang-out. There is a specials menu board and it caters for both carnivores and vegetarians alike. I had a special bacon steak with all trimmings of salads and sauces in the bun and Amy had a Sweet Potato concoction with said trimmings and sauces. Nicely presented and taste to die for. Drink accompaniments where either hot or cold drinks and there were dessert options too but we declined as too stuffed from the main course sandwich. Reasonably priced for a city centre and all in all I recommended you try this cafe for a very fulfilling and rewarding food experience.Thank you for taking the time to give a review. We look forward to feeding you on your next visit!Grays

Always pleasant, quick service. Excellent choice of vegetarian meals, snacks and cakes. Have visited lots of times with friends. Easy to find: just behind the Cathedral. Really enjoyed the warm falafel wrap with salad. The hot apple and cinnamon drink is always refreshing on hot and cold days.

We had such high hopes for this place as we have been reading reviews for ages and were so excited to go. We were expecting a cozy homestyle Italian restaurant that is not a chain. We were utterly disappointed. We ordered Bruschetta starters and were already confused about the wording on the menu (bread with tomatoes and garlic butter). First of all there is absolutely no butter on traditional italian bruschetta and when it came to the table we found it to be toasted garlic bread with 3 halfed tomatoes on top. When the mains came the pizza that we ordered was bland with absolutely no flavour to it whatsoever. The pasta was ok, nothing special. We refrained from having dessert. We were looking for a gidden gem in the city with AUTHENTIC, FRESH and TASTY food but have to say that this is not the place to go.

We were stopping in Leicester en route home, and needed a late lunch stop. Gillyâs came out well in the reviews, which prompted us to find it. First good point - easy parking, right outside, as it isnât city centre. Second good point - friendly staff, who went out of their way to accommodate us, even though it was almost closing time. Other points in its favour - Itâs a spotlessly clean, simply furnished café, and the food was freshly prepared, delicious and well-priced. For a tasty breakfast or simple lunch/ coffee and cake, itâs perfect, and I hope we have the excuse to go back.
