I was in a remote part of South Africa without good coffee for some time. On my way out of the country, early in the morning, I wanted coffee. I saw a number of people carrying coffee from Woolworths, so I went to find it. I was pleased to find that the coffee and baked goods were very good, which was exactly what I was looking for. The coffee line/que was quite long, but it moved relatively fast. Now I know where to go when I'm at the OR Tambo International Airport.

Any of the vida e caffe shops are good value. I love the way the staff at the airport had their 'chant' going every time an order was placed. The friendliness and hospitality was great to experience.

The waiting time is ridiculous. My husband had the chicken nachos, which was seriously overpriced. Look at the portion size and decide for yourself if you would pay R140 for that? BUT he said it was the best nachos he has ever had. I had the ciabatta open sandwich with avocado and halloumi. It was not bad honestly, halloumi was tasteful but it was already a bit ons the cold side so it was rubbery. I have no idea what was so super spicy on the sandwich but it was unexpected! Luckily I donât mind spice. The cappuccino is amazing though, so I would recommend this place for a coffee date.

Granny's tucked away in the old Bapsfontein Hotel complex is the perfect stop for a big slice of cake, breakfast or one of their famous wood-oven pizzas. I cannot recommend it more!
