The Bakery Museum of Furnes houses the most important collection of bakery heritage in Belgium. Through numerous activities, demonstrations and workshops, visitors can get a (litteral!) taste of how bread used to be made back in the day. The museum is located in a restored farmhouse, the 'Zuidgasthoeve' and breathes tradition and history. The permanent collection hosts a unique ensemble of objects related to sugar, ice, chocolate, waffle and speculoos production. In the barn a collection of historic tools illustrates the process from grain to bread. Insider tip: Don't skip the museum's cafe and it's sunny terrace with playground for children. Daily fresh pastries, a cup of coffee or a local beer will make your day complete.
