Challenging 18-hole layout that offers a mix of links, heath and parkland along with panoramic views from practically every hole.
Golspie was the “lead” course in our golfing trip of ten courses throughout Scotland. Though we played many of the big names (Royal Dornoch, Nairn, Castle Stuart, Cruden Bay, Royal Aberdeen, St. Andrews Old Course, Kingsbarn), we couldn’t have picked a better place to start. Our visit started with a very kind welcome in the pro shop. Two of us gals had inadvertently gone through the men’s locker room by accident trying to locate the pro shop. The lady in the pro shop had witnessed our faux pas but never said a word until we confessed our mistake. She just laughed it off. We were fortunate to have lovely weather which, of course, contributed to such a special day. And a special day it was. What fun! The right mix of challenging but fair holes. We had the whole course to ourselves because of a later tee time ( club match in the morning). Beautiful scenery was an added bonus to a great round of golf. Golspie is indeed a hidden gem! Everyone who comes to this area should give this course a try. You will not be disappointed and Golspie may become one of your new favorites as it was for us.

Dunrobin Castle is the historic home of the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland. The earliest part of the building dates from around 1275 and has a number of later extensions. Your tour begins at the main staircase, which leads to the state rooms on the first floor. These include the Dining Room, set with the family silver, and our Library which has over 10,000 books. You then make your way to the smaller rooms in the older parts of the castle. The Tearoom and Gift Shop can be found on the ground floor. Access to the Gardens is from the Entrance Hall. Our Victorian Museum and Falconry displays can be found in the garden. Falconry displays 11.30am and 2pm daily during the months of April, May, June, July, August and September.
Dunrobin Castle &Gardens are beautifully situated with the castle overlooking the ornately designed gardens, the castle itself is immaculate guides are there to answer any questions you may have giving you a clearer insight of how people lived in those times . A bird of prey display is given at certain times of the day and is well worth watching. This is a castle you must not miss

Fantastic walk, lots of little bridges to cross over the river, one huge waterfall along the way and then the main waterfall at the end, also climbed up to the skating pond. Lovely walk for all, we went in January but if you went in summer you could take a picnic.

Just a small sign and parking on the left hand side of the road (coming from the south) will tip you on something quite special. Going all the way back to the Iron Age, these foundations will give you a glimpse of how settlers lives 2000-3000 years ago. Well worth a quick stop, just be careful crossing the A9!!

Just to be able to park in the designated parking areas and see harbour seals, numerous birds including curlews, terns, gulls, and cormorants, and an otter is fantastic. It is all so picturesque too. Just sit tight and get the binoculars out. It really is a beautiful place to be with nature. The best time is when the tide is out as all the sandbanks are viewable with the seals on them. The otter was spotted along the shoreline with the sun glistening off the shining body as he traversed the weed and rocks. So lovely to see everything.

A good walk on well laid and signposted trail from the car park. Good footwear and clothing required as even in July it's exposed at the top. Views are amazing.
