Burgenland (German pronunciation: [ˈbʊʁɡn̩lant] ( listen); Hungarian: Őrvidék; Croatian: Gradišće; Slovene: Gradiščanska; Czech: Hradsko; is the easternmost and least populous state of Austria. It consists of two statutory cities and seven rural districts, with in total 171 municipalities. It is 166 km (103 mi) long from north to south but much narrower from west to east (5 km (3.1 mi) wide at Sieggraben). The region is part of the Centrope Project.

This lake is located in Austria and Hungary and its north area is only 40km away from Bratislava. Its ideal for windsurfing, sailing... I would not recommend to swim there, despite I saw a beach aimed for this purpose, as its water is too muddy. On the other hand there are places where you will spend nice moments with your family, friends or children. We’ve been to Neusiedl am See waterside and there are restaurants, coffees, pubs, playgrounds and many entertainment zones. What is in my opinion its best value is the bike road which is built along the lake where you can enjoy the day in a more active manner (either on bike or with rollers). This is the place where I will certainly return.
