Seoul is the business and cultural hub of South Korea, where skyscrapers tower over Buddhist temples. Take it all in from the N Seoul Tower, built atop a peak in Namsan Park. The teahouses and shops of Insadong give you a taste of Korean flavor, which you can further experience with a visit to the grounds and museums of Gyeongbokgung. UNESCO World Heritage Site Changdeokgung Palace is a fine example of authentic ancient architecture.

Experience authentic Korean chicken & beer three ways. Chicken & beer is an obsession in Korea. You must experience this in the most immersive way possible before leaving Seoul. Your guide is a food writer. He takes you to three vastly different chicken restaurants and pubs that only locals know of. Each place has its story and its way of shining in Korea's love for chicken and beer. From Gangwon Provincial barbecue, to classic 1990s fried, to the newest trend of fire roasted chicken on sizzling rice. You won't get this experience outside Korea. This is not just a food experience. It's a full immersion into Korean life. Only people who love food should book this tour.

After hearing so many good things about the Dark Side of Seoul Tours I decided to finally get up to Seoul and take one with Shawn. The tour was wonderful. Jam packed with lots of really interesting information and of course tons of creepy stories along the way. Shawn is very knowledgeable and is a great storyteller so it made for an extra fun experience. Luckily no ghosts on our tour (at least that I could see). I would highly recommend the tour to anyone either visiting Korea or living in Korea who want to learn more about Korean history and of course folklore. Also the podcast is really great so after hearing so many different ones it was nice to take a walk in some of the places mentioned.

THIS TOUR IS DIFFERENT THAN OTHER TOURS! I focus on food and drinks. The main focus is drinking at each spot while we eat some outstanding food. I provide 5 hour tours. I will be taking you around the neighborhood that has the best food in Seoul, HANDS DOWN! There are tiny alleys that even Koreans don't know about! I have taken many people around here including my native Korean friends and they will agree that it is the best of the best! I promise you won't be disappointed in this tour. Just make sure to bring a huge appetite since we will be trying a ton of dishes! I do not take you to places that you will be able to find on google or are commercialized. I take you to places you would typically not be able to go to on your own.
Inclusions: I supply 3 drinks for the group to share throughout the tour.
Exclusions: The food is not included in the price of the tour. Trust me! The food is super cheap and this tour is still cheaper than other tours that have the food included!
We had an amazing time with Mike on his food tour. It was our favourite part of our trip. We were skeptical at first to pay the price of the tour because we went to the market ourselves a couple nights prior, however it was totally worth it. We wouldn’t have been able to try all the authentic Korean dishes that only the locals know without Mike’s guidance and recommendations. Excellent tour!
What makes this tour different from any other is your guide. Julia has studied Korean alcohol for 8 years and has dedicated her life to absorbing every aspect of the industry. She will take you on an undiscovered journey of tastes and culture.
Inclusions: We will taste a variety of makgeolli from commercially available to hand-crafted by local artisans. Each makgeolli will be paired with classic dishes such as Korean pancakes and steamed pork belly.
Exclusions:
Makgeolli Mamas and Papas is led by two people, Julia ( an Aussie) and Daniel ( A Scotsman) who have an amazing appreciation, knowledge and connection to Korean traditional liquors - especially Magkeolli and Soju and all the other yummy 'byproducts'. They run meetings every 3 weeks when they visit new Magkeolli bars in Seoul, they organize brewery tours, but probably the best experience is their Insadong Magkeolli Tour where you visit three Magkeolli pubs with unique atmospheres, menus and tastings. I took my staff on this tour and they loved it. Julia and Daniel both speak Korean and have great relationships with the pubs, the proprietors and the brewers so they know the history as well as the current status of the 'traditional liquor scene' in Korea. If you are in Seoul and want a real experience of Korean food and drinking culture, get in touch with Julia and Daniel. Prices for the tour range from about 75. 000 KRW - 120. 000 Krw each depending on the level of tastings you want. Totally worth it and a great cultural experience, even for those of us who have lived in Seoul for a few years! Highly recommended.

Tour experience guided by Veronica was most informative and an amazing part of our trip in South Korea. The tour started with lunch at a Michelin rated restaurant called Yongsusan, serving traditional Korean cuisine. The dishes were light and absolutely divine. After lunch we headed to Bukchon Hanok village. Veronica introduced us to a sweet Korean pancake with syrup embedded in the pancake. We walked around the village where she also explained to us important landmarks in the village. We then strolled over to a tea shop called Tea Therapy cafe. A menu was provide to us and recommended the type of tea suited for the individual. I ended purchasing three boxes of the Detox tea. Great purchase! The tour ended at a Buddhist eatery and museum like place. The site explained the type of meals consumed by the monks and the preparation of fermented food for a long winter and year ahead. I highly recommend this tour to solo travelers and families as well. Veronica exudes professionalism and extremely patient with me and my son. She is most informative about Korean history and culinary arts, past and modern day.

Also, in the aftermath of COVID-19, it is perfect for customers who want a safer private means rather than public transportation. 2. This is a new concept tour such as unlimited free pass to enjoy Seoul in the most special and comfortable way. (* Within the set tour time) 4.
