Friendly family run beach side guest house with stunning views of the 3 islets in our ocean facing bay. Halfway between Tarawa's urban centers set back from the main road in quiet gardens. Solar powered desalination for reliable power and pure water. Spacious en-suite rooms with a shared beach side veranda. Kayaks, bicycles, snorkels and masks available.
I enjoyed 8 days at'Dreamers' in November 2019, on my Pacific adventure of a lifetime. Breakfasts and dinners on the veranda with its breathtaking view were wonderful. Richard and Beta are very accommodating hosts. Richard answered my many questions on Tarawa geography, history and culture, and invited me along on a food-shopping trip from one end of South Tarawa to the other, even indulging my request to stop and examine the geologically fascinating 'beachrock'! Unforgettable. Thank you Richard.

The George Hotel Kiribati is a newly opened hotel in Nov 2013 (family owned) under new mgt and situated in the heart of Betio. The hotel is located away from the noisy and dusty main road. Betio is famous during battle of Tarawa. Just 5 -15 minutes walk to Betio wharf. KPA, Customs, Post office, ANZ bank, KIT, MTC and shopping centre. 10 -15 Minutes drive to bairiki. Satellite TV (lounge). Our aim is to provide a safe, clean accommodation. Your Safety, Heath and Comfort is our priority. Internet is available at a reasonable price ( ISP is expensive in kiribati so we suggest you buy sim card and subscribe for $6/800mb data). Bicycle, motor bikes or a rental Car is always available for rent at a reasonable price. We provide free pickup from the Airport . For direct booking please call on the above phone number or click email contact above and email us your booking enquiry.
Laid back environment with friendly staff. Free wifi for a day. Have laundry services. They can also arrange for airport pickup and drop off for free. Free breakfast also included. But very far from main shopping areas

We are an accommodation provider (motel with 28 rooms) and are located in Ambo Village. We have offer rooms at varying price points as follows: 8 standard rooms 12 de luxe rooms 2 executive suuites 2 self contained apartments (ideal for long stays), and 4 overwater de luxe rooms. We also operate a restaurant and bar, and convenience store, and also offer catering for special functions, banquet and meeting facilities on the premises too.
We enjoyed a fine lunch at this motel during our three day stay in Kiribati. Unfortunately, the manager arbitrarily decided to cancel our longstanding reservation for four people right at the last minute. This meant that our Tarawa based tour organisers had to find an alternative at very short notice. Given we had come from very faraway, we did not appreciate this gesture and can only speculate that our three rooms went to a higher bidder. A real shame. Unprofessional hotel, excellent food.

We stayed just one night in one of the over water bures. The long walkway had broken slats and raised nails. Luckily, they carried our suitcases for us. A single striplight (No 2 was removed) stopped bumping into anything during the night. When the tide is out, the smell of the sand is not pleasant. Mattress was rock hard and my back was sore next day. Food was pretty basic and rotten. Beautiful setting, but surrounded by squalid shanty town with penned in pigs and all many of debris strewn everywhere, a busy boatyard and an interesting clam farm whose owner was quick to charge 10 AUD a head to see for 15 minutes even though he had to rush off to a meeting and could not guide us. Litter and debris strewn everywhere in the immediate area where you get the small boat over to the other side. This was an interesting experience and the photos look amazing, but it is far from comfortable. The toilet and shower blocks are some way from the accommodation. Take your own soap and towels if possible. We did walk over to the other side to swim but were warned to stay close to the lodge due to the wild dogs there. The water stays shallow even at high tide and there is nothing to see. The waves at the hear me of the inlet look very rough and would make any search for coral inadvisable.

TAD's Guesthouse is a nice and small family run hotel with kind and exceptional people. We had a very comfortable and clean western-style room with A/C. There is a delicious restaurant, where you dont have to worry about cleanliness like in the most of Kiribati. All in all a very good base for South Tarawa.

Welcome to Tabuki Retreat Our property is an eco-retreat set on a beautiful tropical beach, with accommodations to provide excellent privacy if required and yet a comfortable environment to mix with other guests. Allow our friendly, courteous staff to welcome you with a smile to our quiet and peaceful surroundings. We are also only a few metres from the old broken bridges.
We spent two nights at Tabuki retreat, and we regret that we had just two nights. The place is beautiful, all nature, nice walks, the swim at the lagoon and channel was perfect, and if you want to relax, this is the place. Rooms are big are nice and food is just excellent, as you need to consider what it is locally available rather than just expect a Western Restaurant menu.

Stayed here for 2 weeks quarantine. I stayed in the upstairs new wing. The room I stayed in was one of the best I've seen in Tarawa. Spacious ensuite, modern, air-conditioned with sliding doors & a balcony with garden view. The room has black out curtains. Great for sleeping in. Food delivery was on time.
