The property is owned by a family from Bihar who have settled there for last few generations. You feel good to see that people coming from far off places owning hotels in this place through their hard work. But owning a hotel and running a hotel are two different things which they need to understand. They have total untrained staff and service is very poor, They charge very high price for the rooms but it is not worth it as many good options near the Lake and Monastery are available at the cost lower than what we paid. First we booked online and the cost was 3800 but when we landed we were given a room in the lower ground floor without any ventilation. This was not informed to us at the time of booking. Hence, we have to change the room by paying a very high cost - 5500 plus GST. The room did not have TV and hot water when we checked in. Once we pointed out, a cable connection was fixed by bringing a set top box from another room. But the service was not there as the hotel has not paid for renewal. The soaps and towels were of very poor quality (lifebuoy 5 Rupee soaps). They provide one towel only though it is double bedded. Hot water switch is somewhere else. If you ask, they will switch on. The sports and movie channels were not provided. The view of the lake from the hotel is good. The water coming from the tap was muddy and when we complained that we can not use this water, they provided a few buckets. They said that this kind of water is coming in the tap from municipality as the pipe has burst at some point in supply line. When we checked with other people in the area, we were given to understand that this is not the case. The food is oily and takes good time to deliver. One family of husband and wife who had come for late lunch were shouting for bad food served to them. You have to insist on GST bill as they charge but tell you that cashier or the computer operator is not there and they will send later. When I insisted to have it, they sent me after 2/3 days. Very unprofessional service. Positive points are the Mirik Lake is nearby and you can walk for 15/20 minutes to reach the lake. We did not enjoy our stay and do not look forward to visit the hotel again. It is not worth the money you pay. Intercom does not work and hence save the number of the hotel to call them for any service.

Jagjeet Mirik: A very good example of a bad hotel. Was in Mirik for a couple of days. Have always heard that Jagjeet is the only good hotel in Mirik and it turned out just the opposite. We checked in and opted for an early lunch at their in-house restaurant. Ordered for some parathas, fish tikka and chicken tikka butter masala. The fish was served with a mixed pickle(the bottled one). We had to request for the mint chutney. The parathas were good but the chicken tikka butter masala was a disaster! The worst part was that the bad lunch was just the beginning to the series of disappointments! We had booked a luxury room but the bed sheets were dirty, there were cobwebs in every corner of the room and there was fungus on the ceiling! They serve only one bottle of water and the tea/coffee amenities are a complete let down. We wanted to have some tea and snacks in the evening.. half an hour after giving our orders to the room service, a bell boy knocks at our door to inform that due to a busy day and shortage of staff they could not prepare the tea and snacks! After much pursuit they sent us the tea and sandwiches. The tea was ok but the sandwiches were again… (you guessed it right) a disaster!! Next morning we went down for breakfast to be greeted by an over enthusiastic server who with much pomp informed that due to shortage of staff they will not be able to serve a-la-carte and had to settle for a dismal spread. Hotel Jagjeet- you have successfully managed to spoil our stay in Mirik! Such a disgrace!!
