Yewfield is a peaceful and quiet vegetarian B&B retreat set in over 80 acres of private grounds extending on to Tarn Hows, a lovely beauty spot of the Lake District. 18 en-suite rooms well appointed to win a 5 star award from the Lake district tourist board. Classical concerts with some of the world's finest performers help to make this one of the Lake District's most magical venues. We also have 3 self-catering apartments, for those wishing to relax and enjoy a quiet retreat in the heart of the Lake District with fabulous walks straight form the door
Enjoyed a 4 night self-catering apartment in Mulberry which is probably the best of the apartments there. The location is fantastic - walk to Tarn Hows is 20 mins and then a plethora of walks from there around Tarn Hows or to Hawkshead or even to Coniston. Derek is very friendly and informative about local walks and routes. Would highly recommend it to anyone like us who needed a 3-4 day break to "de-compress". We will be back - even though we live about an hour away this was like an oasis!

The Red Lion Inn is a Traditional 15th century Lakeland Inn (the oldest pub in Hawkshead), situated in the centre of the beautiful village of Hawkshead in the heart of the English Lake District.Paul, Lynn and Jake Larkin will endevour to provide you with a warm & friendly welcome to The Red Lion, where you will find comfortable & clean accommodation, traditional home cooked food, a wide range of wines & spirits and superbly kept cask ales from around the area. Each of our eight en~suite guest rooms have their own distinct character & charm. All retain many of the original features with sloping ceilings, uneven floors & oak beams. Why not while away the hours in a cheerful, relaxed & informal atmosphere with friends old & new. Be warned, a sense of humour is a must!
I cannot rate this place highly enough! We arrived in Hawkshead after a very long journey from Bath with two agitated children and two hungry and thirsty labradors. The owners (new owners as I've since found out) couldn't do enough to pacify them all and help a couple of fraught parents out. Our family room was immaculately clean and comfortable and the evening meal was exceptional and great value for money.

From the moment of booking my stay - I was impressed with this establishment. It's very obvious that every little detail has been thought about and caters for guests enjoyment. From the on-line pre-booking system, local restaurant suggestions, the beautiful glassware used, the gorgeous room which I was escorted to and shown around before being handed my key. Breakfast was possibly the nicest breakfast I've ever had away from home - simply beautiful regarding the fresh ingredients and presentation. A happy staff/team who can't do enough to ensure you enjoy your stay. Highly recommended. I will definitely be returning.

A traditional Lakeland inn. Good food, real ales, bed and breakfast accommodation and self-catering cottages. A warm welcome awaites at the Kings Arms, Hawkshead, which lies in the heart of the English Lake District in the beautiful. The Inn, on Hawkshead's Village Square, has greeted visitors since Elizabethan times to a place where the pace of life remains quiet and unhurried.
Come to Hawkshead 2-3 times a year ! What has happened to the Kings ? No food , loud music , swearing and yorping! Has gone down hill from our last visit a few months ago. I believe it has a new landlord, so give him another chance but talking to locals this seems how he runs the pub now ! Time will tell.

Set at the bottom of the fells in the picturesque village of Hawkshead sits the Hive at Hawkshead nestled in the buzz of the village the amazing landscape surrounding Hawkshead with its views of the surrounding hills, fields and rivers. With nearby Esthwiate , Windermere and coniston just over the hill. The Hive at hawkshead offers boutique accommodation for all people what ever the occassion. We
I had the most wonderful stay at the Hive - the rooms were warm, large and very comfortable. While there were some renovations going on, they made it a point to have a divider between the parts that they were renovating and the parts that weren't. Check in was easy and we were able to do so contact-less which made us feel very safe. Carpark is also less than a minute away and free if you arrive after 5.00 pm (and leave by 9.00 am the following morning). I was on a week long road trip with my partner and this was by far, my favourite stay of the entire trip. Will definitely be back. Tip: Take a 15 drive in the morning to the Bluebird Café which is located by Lake Coniston. Breakfast was lovely and the views were stunning. Easily my favourite morning (waking up in the Hive then driving down to the Bluebird) in a very long time. Another tip: Travel light. We had a luggage with us and that was a little hard to carry up the stairs to our room. It would have been fast easier if we used a carry on!
