Pit Stop is located just outside of Island Harbor, on the south side of the road just west of the T intersection on the road to Shoal Bay East. Really good roadside, local BBQ - - ribs, chicken and fish, with potatoes, rice & peas, johnny cakes, etc. Very inexpensive. Always has a good crowd of locals. Excellent alternative in the East End if you are loooking for a break from the 5-star scene and prices.

Voted one of the top five beach bars in the Caribbean; Sandy Island is a tiny spit of sand in the middle of the ocean serving fabulous fresh seafood, with excellent wine and beverage service and 360 degrees of ocean views. It is the ultimate destination f
You van only get to Sandy Island Restaurant via boat - itâs an Island! Well, really more of a sand bar which must have been devastated by the hurricane last year. Nearly every building is new and obviously still a work in progress. The restrooms are super basic - think camping. But they have covered areas and all the picnic tables have big umbrellas. Otherwise, there isnât much shade on this spit of sand. The service is a bit casual, especially at the bar (where they would do well to be a bit more accommodating as it makes them money). We had lobster and ribs and they were pretty tasty. This is especially true when you realize they are shipping everything in and cooking it on an Island! It might be touristy and it might be pricy, but Iâd go back in a heartbeat. Ribs, lobster and Anguilla beer on a little sandy island canât be beat if you want to escape the world. Thanks for your candid response Potamac Jim. We thank you for coming to the new Sandy Island post hurricane Irma and we appreciate you taking the time to write a review. We take your feedback very seriously and will share this with our staff. We hope you come back soon to see our progress as we now have a new dining room.Best wishes for 2019.

We have been to Anguilla several times, and this trip, we asked the locals where they eat. They suggested B&D's BBQ, so we found it and tried it out. Its like hanging out in your own backyard - everyone, including the locals come here to share stories, drink some wine or beer (BYOB is allowed) or get some takeout to go. The food and service was excellent! And, the price was right. You won't go home hungry....

We visited Gwen's for a late lunch on a weekday in May of 2019. Restaurant was not crowded. Service was friendly, drinks were cold and the food (chicken and ribs) was good. Well worth the visit. We will return on our next trip to Anguilla.Gwen's is located on an excellent beach. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy a few drinks along with your meal.Gwen's does have parking available but the driveway to the parking lot is a steep, downhill ride over a pot hole filled road. Easily done in a small rental car if going slow.

A short walk from Zemi, you'll find a great lunch spot in the Tropical Sunset. Best rice and beans I've had to date and the jerk chicken was very tasty as well. The food was served with alacrity and the prices were fair. Thank you for your review Steven. It was our pleasure having you dine with us. We look forward to serving you again in the not too distant future.

Watch the crystal clear waters wash the sparkling white sands as you enjoy a refreshing cocktail in the comforting shade of your umbrella. SunShine Shack is the place to experience real island vibes in Anguilla, this is paradise! The bar explodes with lif
We spent and excellent day at Sunshine Shack. Upon entering we were warmly greeted by the entire staff. They introduced themselves and shook our hands. What nice people. We arrived at 10:30 when they opened and immeditaly placed our lunch order of ribs. We were served around 12:45. They were fantastic. Garvey is a grill master and to be a grill master the process cannot be rushed. I cannot say enough about how kind everyone was. The service was impeccable and everyone is truly warm, kind and friendly. Always checking on us to see if we needed anything. This was our first trip to Anguillla but not our last. SSS will be one of our first stops on our next trip. The lobsters look phenomenal. We will get an order of ribs and one of lobster on our next trip.

After 6 trips to Anguilla, we figured we'd track this down and give it a try. We ordered ribs and chicken. Honestly, I don't understand the hype of this place. The chicken was almost all bones and no meat. It's OK, and obviously the cheapest deal on the island (It was $9) but that's about it. Don't think I'd go back again. If you want a cheap meal that has flavor and atmosphere, check out "Leons" on Meads Bay, for the $8 burger instead.
