Have gone 2 days in a row and have not been disappointed. They do a great job smoking their meats. The St Louis ribs were tender and delicious. The garlic chicken wings were very good. The sautéed garlic mushrooms were tasty. A must try are the fried squash - excellent.

The good: our waitress was very nice. The bad: if youâre celiac or gluten intolerant, this is no the place for you.no dedicated fryers. No gf buns. All of the sauces contain wheat. I didnât ask about the seasoning on the meat. I just got a side salad to be safe. My husband has been here 4 or 5 times however itâs been nearly 2 years since his last visit. He said his BBQ sandwich didnât taste as good as it used to taste.
Happened to be heading to Lake Wylie around lunch time and that was the perfect opportunity to try out this new BBQ spot. Hasn't been open long, and we figured they would still be working out the kinks. Location looks familiar...think it was previously a different BBQ spot. They were fairly busy when we arrived, and someone behind the bar advised we could seat ourselves. Menus were on the table. After a little wait, our server, Haley, arrived and took both our food and drink orders. As usual, my wife and I shared a platter; we chose the classic pulled pork with 2 sides (potato salad and mac and cheese). The food took much longer to arrive than in a typical BBQ spot; our server, Haley, was getting frustrated and continually apologized for the delay. The food finally arrived along with two sauces: Carolina mustard, and a deep red ketchup-based sauce with a hint of apple cider. Both sauces were very good. Not that the pork needed sauce. It was moist, tender and very flavorful. The portion was more than enough to share. The potato salad was exceptional with a slightly sweet taste. The mac and cheese was good but nothing special; I prefer mine baked and less saucy, but this was creamy and smooth.Haley did a great job of keeping us informed about the delay of our order (ours was not the only one delayed). As the staff finds their operational groove, I'm hopeful that the service will speed up. Meanwhile, the food is worth the wait, and we'll come back again, for sure.

I was out with a few of our sales reps who are local to the area and they insisted that we eat here. I got excited because local restaurants are always the best. This place is no exception! There's outdoor seating and indoor seating. The menu is simple enough but offers enough options for everyone. And the nachos are fantastic. Finally, the wait staff was very friendly and very efficient. Perfect for a business lunch. Yum!

Ribs. Pork. Chicken. Brisket. Hell, even sausage. All BBQ has the same three basic ingredients: smoke, meat and time. What makes it different is the amount, consideration and attention to each part of that recipe. That, and some really great bbq sauce, to
Jim 'n Nicks was a nice experience. Hostesses were nice, seat was not under fan, temp. was comfortable. 6-7 TVs going with various sports shows going. Server was friendly, brought beverages quickly, took the order, and it wasn't too long before the food arrived. Quantities were plentiful, food was hot. Taste was fine, though the BBQ process is a firm believer in keeping the whole pig in the equation. Unfortunately chucks of fat in the BBQ are a quick turn-off for us and about a third was left on the plate or tossed later. Salad was crisp, potato was HUGE! So, go hungry. It's a nice place...just not a future date for us.
