Heard about Ristorante Arogonese back home in London so, whilst in Italy, just had to come to Calabria to try it. Our party of three were were not disappointedWe drove down from North of Napoli, were tired and grumpy when we arrived. However, the sun was setting and we were greeted by friendly staff and well earned beers. We pitched up outside on the tables overlooking the most amazing Castle whilst the sunset. We relaxed straight away and regained our karma.After sinking a few, we took a table inside, with Le Castella now lit and in full view - the setting was perfect for dining.We opted for a sea food platter and, I have to say, I was blown away by the variety and quality of the spread. Prawns cooked in a a lovely sauce, 3 squid dishes, cuttle fish, tuna, crab, mussels ... the list goes on. All wonderfully cooked, flavours to savour and wine to complement. Every mouthful was a delight and every dish a pleasure.We thoroughly enjoyed the feast, had some cheeses and meats, coffee, brandy and whisky too.What a great way to spend an evening - staff were chatty and friendly making us feel most welcome. I would highly recommend, for supper and during the day, where the atmosphere is relaxed, the cuisine fantastic and the location, the finest in town.

Siamo capitati in questo ristorante per caso; avevamo intenzione di mangiare una pizza ma FORTUNATAMENTE la pizza non c'era perché abbiamo gustato la cena di pesce più buona di tutta la vacanza!!! Piatti abbondanti e squisiti (i paccheri con rana pescatrice un vero spettacolo), vino eccellente, servizio cordiale e preparato, location bellissima, ideale per un matrimonio! E infatti non abbiamo potuto evitare un improvvisato set fotografico per i nostri commensali futuri sposi. Un immenso grazie al proprietario e a tutto lo staff, per la loro gentilezza e simpatia. Torneremo sicuramente, e se non ci siete mai stati dovreste assolutamente provare!

Uno dei migliori ristoranti dove ho mangiato a Le Castella: poco fuori dalla via principale, offre un giardino fresco e tranquillo dove gustare dell'ottimo pesce fresco cucinato con cura e amore, rispettando la tradizionalità delle ricette del posto.Antipasto davvero abbondante e gustoso, buone le linguine allo scoglio e ottima la frittura di paranza, varia e per niente unta.Gentile il personale, anche se a volte un po' lento e inesperto; prezzi davvero economici.

This place has wonderful pizza and traditional Italian food, along with their innovative barbecue offerings including the Big Boss burger. We organized a big family dinner for 20 with a traditional Calabrese menu here. The chef outdid herself! There was so much food we didnât think we could eat any more, and the courses kept coming. Tonino is a great waiter, super enthusiastic, and speaks good English. This is a great place for families too

It's all about meat in this place. That's the reason we went there, looking for something different after some days in this area. Good variety of cuts and generous dishes, prepared in a proper way. Unfortunately not supported by the most important thing: meat quality.
