This is my first TripAdvisor review ever which says a lot about the calibre of food and service you'll get at El Castillo's. My husband and I visited twice for dinner during our stay in Costa Rica. There are many great places to dine in the area but El Castillo's food was so delicious and thoughtfully crafted that we visited twice, despite our general rule to never visit the same place twice. The first time we visited I ordered the mushroom burger that had a beautiful port sauce and my husband ordered the Timmy sandwich. Both were delicious. Tonight we went for the rib dinner -- a Friday special -- and it was out of this world. We were stuffed but couldn't refuse an order of the Snickers cheesecake that was just sublime and I'm not someone who has a sweet tooth. Everything is homemade and delicious. The owner and staff are attentive and the food is out of this world. Do yourself a favor and visit El Castillo.. you will not regret it!

My wife and I have hung out there numerous times and itâs 5 stars every time. Weâre from Oregon so our beer tastes require something a bit more dank and this place has it. Yes.. they have IPAâs. They have fresh cut sweet potato fries and normal fries I havenât really found in Tamarindo before that are fantastic. If your into watching sports itâs your place too. The owner is super social and you can tell he knows how to run a restaurant. Just an all around great place in the heart of Tamarindo. Highly recommended!!

I love the vibe of the spot. Very chill and relax. I went with my husband but they def have seating for large parties. The empanadas was not impressive. I had the chicken Casado that was seasoned well and the salad more like a vinegar based coleslaw was refreshing.

I was really surprised at the quality of this place. But first things first. The restaurant is located inside a gated community on top of the hill or mountain, whatever you want to call it. The restaurant is open concept with fully open walls situated next to the infinity pool, which when it's light provides breathtaking views. But that is not the only one selling point for the restaurant. The place has a bar which is a great thing when you're in the pool. But the food is also amazing. I don't know how the other dishes are but the seafood and steak that we had ordered were amazing. The place wasn't packed but it was definitely busy. It always seems to be busy but it closes pretty early by New York standards but by Costa Rican it seems to be pretty normal.

Long loved by locals, the secret is out on Lola's fantastic staff serving top-notch organic fare in a beautiful open-air beachfront setting. Gorgeous homemade wooden tables and chairs are set at water's edge under the shade of palm trees and umbrellas. Fr

We were happy to find a place we could grab and take it back to our house. We tried 3 different burgers and the chicken tacos. I highly recommend the burger with mushrooms. We all liked our food.
