My last evening in Middelburg and I wanted something a little more âformal.â I wandered around downtown Middelburg looking for interesting options. I walked down a side street and came across Desafinado. A quick look at the menu suggested I had found an interesting place. I didnât have a reservation but, apparently, a lot of people who did have reservation hadnât shown up so I was able to get a seat immediately. The restaurant appears to be situated in an older house. The main dining room downstairs has a homey feel. There arenât a lot of tables but they also arenât all crushed together. As with many places like this there was a short bar as well. After sorting out which beer I preferred I perused the menu. Several interesting starters were available but I went with the beef carpaccio. For the entrée I actually had a âfishâ salad that had many seafood items present. The food was delicious and quite reasonably priced in my opinion. I enjoyed the meal and it was exactly what I was looking for. Recommended.

ZanziBar may look like you average pub/cafe, but the food there is much better than than average. I have visited several times and I have yet to order anything that I did'nt enjoy. It is mostly young girls that wait. All are competent, but also cheerful and sweet.

I visited this place with some friends who I haven't seen for a couple of years. We had some coffee and food and stayed there for more than 4 hours. The tosti's were good and my falafel burger delicious, the salad wasn't drowning in the sauce which is good.Staff friendly and professional.

De Babbel is a real family business, Michael and Monique reopened this place since March 2012. Grand-father Bram bakes the best apple-pies to go with your coffee and some other members of the family help where they can. Our cosy 'eetcafé', a dutch name fo
Stopped for a drink at De Babbel twice during our long weekend at Zouteland. It is the last bar/restaurant along the main drag of the town. We chose it because the seating was a little more spacious than the other bars close by, where chairs and tables closely packed together. Being on the corner, it was quite windy. Service was prompt and prices similar to the other bars in the town. We did not eat here, but food looked very good. A nice place to sit and watch the world go by. It tended to get busy around 5pm when holiday makers came off the beach.

We went there for an early dinner. The design is cozy and modern, the menu only offers a small amount of different dishes. But the dishes are diverse and creative, the quality of the food was excellent. For many dishes there was a veggie version available. Service was nice, the prices reasonable.

We had a light supper at Vriendschap on a cold dark night. We ordered shrimp bisque and a Tom Ka with bean sprouts and other veggies in it. Both soups were delicious. My bottle of Zeeland apple juice was so unusually delicious that my wife had to order a bottle for herself. The lust for new flavors got the better of us, and we ordered some shrimp kroket which were also delicious. The wait staff were helpful and polite, and food arrived reasonably promptly. One delightfully charming staff member chatted with us when we found out she was from Indonesia. Vriendschap was the most memorable restaurant that we visited in Middelburg, and we recommend it very highly for atmosphere, friendliness, taste, and value.Hello dear Staidthere,Thank you so much for your nice review. It makes us shine! We hope to see you again,Kind regards and all the best,Connie

Strandpavillion in den Dünen von Vlissingen direkt am Meer mit Blick auf viele Schiffe
Piet Heyn is on the beach and we know it very well as we go regularly to Vlissingen/Koudekerke for one or two days. The first stop is for a nice coffee with sea view and in the evening a simple dish (fish, good meat, salad etc) with sometimes a marvellous sunset. Good service, friendly people, nice furniture. You got a real holiday feeling when you go to Piet Heyn.
