I had my daughter's holy communion here and it was awesome! We had about 85 people, so they gave us half of the place, the one with the big bar, dance floor and stage! The kids had a great time dancing and partying to the DJ. I've been here to watch some football games, but I didn't expect to have such a great time with their party. They let us bring in centerpieces and they had a desert/candy cart which we obviously had to do. The cake was from Alpine bakery and they staff was so attentive and polite. The changes the lighting color on the walls to pink for my daughter. She loved it!I definitely recommend having a party here, even if it's for a kid.

Stopped by Anthonyâs for a quick bite and we decided on pizza. We had it with peppers and onions and it was very good. It is a good dependable restaurant. They have a nice salad also.

While visiting friends in the Commack area , we all decided instead of having a BBQ on the 4th we would visit a local restaurant. Adaquate on site parking. Did not need reservations and were seated withing 10 minutes. What a great surprise that there was a Special for the holiday. All of us ordered the Steamed Lobster and ribs. Came with a sald, and side s of choice.Service was great and the meal was wonderful, especially not having to clean up .When in the area try this establishment.

Went here last Sunday after a show at the Performing Arts Center... it's a short walk away. Our party of 8 had a reservation for 2pm, though we really didn't need one. We had kids (7 and 10 y.o.) adults and grandparents in our group. They have a kids menu which includes all the usual stuff. Several people had burgers. A few had wraps (very hearty) and a few had salads. Everyone seemed to lie his/her meal. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The place is small, with maybe a dozen tables. There's a backroom that is glass enclosed.

Old fashioned restaurant in a marvelous setting. The food is prepared well and the service is excellent. The portions are large and the y all come with bread and a salad. I had the sauerbraten and it was delicious. We usually go in the middle of the week and the restaurant is relatively quiet. I could see on the weekend where it could be more crowded and noisy . Overall beautiful atmosphere, good food, and reasonable prices.

Shanahan's is located down a dark road, across from the former Kings Park Psychiatric Center, on which the main building still looms above the skyline. Pretty creepy. The bar is a converted house that has an interesting history; stories are passed around about the center's patients walking into the bar and surrounding residences back in the day. Now, the bar is one favored by locals. We stopped by one night to see one of the bands perform. The interior is large, with very high ceilings and plenty of room in the dance floor/dining room area. They offer pub food, nothing very notable, although their wings are supposed to be good. I had pretzel bites with cheese dipping sauce, pretty standard and a steak sandwich with fries (more bread than meat). The drinks were fine, our waitress was fantastic, doing double duty tending bar and serving tables, very attentive.Music was good, people were dancing and we had a great time. It is definitely off the beaten path; just don't turn left on your way out of the parking lot, or you might end up in the Long Island Sound, since there are no street lights down that way.
