My husband and I had driven to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. On our way back we found this place simply by accident. It is unprepossessing from the outside, and frankly, from the inside as well. But our server was prompt, friendly, and competent. I had the tuna tacos and my husband had the wahoo tacos. The fish was unbelievably fresh and cooked just as we asked. The tacos were served with a delicious mango salsa and a side of tasty Asian slaw. The tortillas had been slightly grilled so they were warm. I would definitely return. We look forward to your return visit and Thank You for your input!Oceanas Bistro

We actually came to Pangea 5 years ago and the whole experience was forgettable. However, we decided to try it again this year and were blown away by the excellent service from Serhii and the quality of the food! I started with a prickly sunrise drink and it was very tasty, then we decided to get the coconut shrimp appetizer. My boyfriend doesn't usually eat shrimp but he really enjoyed it. We both agreed that the Pina colada sauce would have been easier to eat if it was blended up or if the coconut flakes were smaller, but it tasted excellent. I ordered the special of the evening. It was a grilled Mahi fillet with grilled zucchini, potato salad, and a basil mint pesto and it was outstanding!! The zucchini were cooked perfectly and the fish was flaky and delicious. My boyfriend got the curry bowl with chicken and said it was really good. It came out really hot and it was a large portion size with fresh, crispy vegetables and rice. The restaurant was clean and Serhii was wonderful. We will be coming back and we highly recommend Pangea Tavern!!

Open 11am to Midnight 7 days a week. BRUNCH every day, lunch, happy hour, dinner and late night food. C'mon in for burgers, wings, shrimp tacos and frosty cold beers. We have pool tables, darts, great music and outdoor seating. You'll see why we're the be
Staying in Buxton, picked this place at random because they had outdoor seating. Left very happy.I was inside briefly. Seemed like a basic, upscale shore âyee hawâ bar. Pool tables (I think I saw darts, but I honestly donât recall). I was greeted quickly with a smile by the bartender, asking if we could sit outside. She handed me drink menus and sent me out. We were greeted by our waiter within 1 minute. He was VERY friendly and made good suggestions. I was particularly interested in a shot of tequila (celebrating a clean bill of health on a cancer scare!) And he recommended the house tequila. Donât remember the name but it was fantastic. My wife and I had a beer (cold, always good at the shore). My daughters shared an order of nachos. My wife had some sort of flat bread, a half pizza/half tortilla thing with cheese and veggies (I believe it was called a Hatteras Flat). I didnât try it, but my wife and the girls shared both dishes and seemed happy. I personally had a half pound of hot-BBQ wings and a steak taco. The wings: Good, very good even. I come from the land of chicken wings in Central PA so my pallet expects a lot. The wings were a little small, but cooked well and the sauce was excellent. I wouldnât drive out of my way to get them, but if I was in Buxon Iâd order them again. The steak taco was off-the-charts good, made me wish Iâd bagged the wings and had a trio of tacos. This is homemade stuff, something I didnât expect from a bar.The whole bill (and we left full) was about $70 with tip, a great price for an excellent meal in a place where the cost of acquiring materials must be nuts. We loved it, and would go back in a minute.

We are a casual dining restaurant located on the Pamlico Sound in Buxton. We have been serving dinner on the Outer Banks for 21 years now, six in Hatteras until Hurricane Isabel took our building away, and then we blew up the road to Buxton for the last 1
Great King crab legs - you wonât leave hungry! We ate here several times during the week we stayed at OBX. Had to wait for a table each time (we didnât make reservations) but totally worth the wait! Good well drinks. If you like pina coladas get them here! Whipped cream and a cherry on top!

Small but intimate atmosphere. A dive worth stopping at with the best seafood. Some prices were a bit high, but the fish is reasonably priced. I LOVED the non-PC signs and decor. NYC whimps need not attend. Southern NC charm in their service and manners.
