The Ship Inn at Elie in Fife has long been one of Scotland's most iconic pubs, famous for its great views, stunning location, and even as the only pub in the world to have a cricket team with a pitch on the beach. The owners, Graham and Rachel Bucknall, w
The Ship Inn was our favorite restaurant during our stay in Scotland. We enjoyed every restaurant and/or pub we visited, but this was by far our favorite and we ate here twice during our five-night stay in Fife. I had the best fish ân chips I have ever tasted in the UK! Everyone is friendly, a great local pub for the village inhabitants (and an obvious fave), dog friendly, wheelchair accessible and can even get vegetarian or gluten-free meals.Thank you for your review - I am delighted to hear we were your favourite restaurant you visited in Scotland! I hope you find the time to visit us again on your next visit!

Last day of our holiday, so we popped in here for breakfast before we set off home. Very attentive and friendly staff, and for £14.50, a great breakfast. The poor reviews are to be believed. It should be amazing....wonderful spot, cozy vibe etc. Instead food was really poor, and the management was a masterclass in 'passive aggressive'. My Cullen Skink starter was ok (bread stale)..but when it emerged again with mashed potato on top as my wife's Main Course and called a 'pie'.. unbelievable. I'm not going to waste time detailing any more..long reviews are dull. Last night of our holidays ruined by soulless, careless, tasteless fare. Just believe me, don't eat here.

Lovely village pub with sun-filled beer garden (when Scottish weather allows). Great range of beers spirits - including Hop House 13, Joker IPA, Guinness, Addlestone's Cloudy Cider and Tennent's lager. Excellent wine list with super selections from old an
Visited with my two daughters. Was informed of a big wait for food which was no problem. Ordered x2 fish and chips and chips along with a bowl of chips. In less than ten minutes our food arrived. If thatâs a long wait I wonder what a shot wait is Food was tasty and the best fish he had in years. Left full and happy. Wonderful place with friendly helpful staff. Will definitely make a return visit as the chowder looks amazing. No photos as was too busy eating What a lovely review! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your comments. It was a delight to serve you and your two lovely daughters and Iâm just glad we could fit you in and serve you without much of a wait. Hopefully see you all again in the not too distant future. Tim

This is not a place to come if you want to have a conversation. The place is very crowded, reservations absolutely essential. The tables are very close together and it seems popular with families. Our group last night finally gave up and ate in silence. However, the food is quite good--we had everything from fajitas to sea bass and all were excellent. We were amazed at how quickly the food came to us--the fastest service we experienced in three weeks in Scotland. The waitress encouraged us to order seafood--she said it was what they are known for. Those that did order it, said it was excellent. I had two appetizers for my entree and the calamari was unusual--very large rings, but good. The portions are quite large and the desserts were wonderful.

Visited last Christmas time just for a drink and said that if we ever went again to the area, weâd eat here. Enjoyed their veggie tasting board, macaroni cheese (which was fantastic) and a scotch egg. All very nice and washed down with a nice bottle of wine.
