Great little BYO. Nice to have an Indian restaurant with a bright and airy feel. The food was simply one of the best curries we have had for quite some time. We will be returning soon.

Was in Wincanton for one night only & didnât want to eat in a restaurant so decided on a Chinese takeaway. Took approx 15-20 minutes to arrive after ordering but well worth the wait. Food was really hot compared to my local takeaway in Cornwall, was clearly freshly cooked and tasted great. Had the house special mixed fried rice & asked them to change the gravy for bbq sauce which they did with no hassle. Would recommend & go back if I was in Wincanton again.

We were on a cycling holiday, didn't know the area and went in by accident looking for bread. This was a very happy mistake as once inside we realised that this is the home of exceptional cake, and a lovely thai restaurant, and both elements it carries off beautifully. We opted for cake, some of the best we have ever tasted (I had a passion fruit sponge). It wasn't fussy or over-complicated and tasted every bit as good as it looked with a just-out-of-the-oven freshness. We ate in the oasis of a patio at the back full of flowers and a clambering grape vine.

After a day of pouring rain we picked this takeaway for supper. We both ordered beef curry. Very tasty and plenty of beef (I moaned to my wife that I had heaps of mushrooms in mine / then she noticed she didn't have any !), hardly a big deal though.Overall very good and worth a visit.

Matt's Kitchen is run out of Matt's house. It's intimate, unique and always best to book. Strictly cash only and BYO.
We had been recommended Mattâs Kitchen by a friend who lived locally during our visit to Bruton. Thankfully we listened to the advice. From booking our meal to leaving the restaurant post meal everything was straight forward and enjoyable. Matt happily catered for a vegetarian in our group and the rest of us were able to try everything else on the menu. Great to have some time in company of the chef himself as he explained his menu and made his recommendations. A choice of 3 starters preceded a choice of one main then a choice of 3 desserts. We tried them all and trying to choose a favourite with pretty much impossible. BYO drinks and cash only make the experience quirkier still but overall itâs an experience you shouldnât miss out on.

They do not have a website of their own but are a well-established business.
We are within walking distance for takeaway or eating in and we are never disappointed. The food is great quality and consistent whenever and however many of us there are. Eating in, it's small but the atmosphere is friendly and the service is always attentive and friendly. They have stopped trying to guess my 'usual' because I no longer have one - the menu is great and the only dishes I don't order are the ones I find a bit too hot for my palate. The only criticism I have is that in the summer, the restaurant gets far too warm for us to be comfortable eating in. We end up having a takeaway and eating it in the garden at home though so it's not a bad thing. If you don't have that option (ie have driven to eat there), it could be a little stuffy on a warm day. Well worth a visit.
