Very delicious set nan menu, exactly same with the ones I had in India! Perfect service, friendly staff, delicious food, very clean place... If you are not good with spicy I recommend you go for mild spice level at the beginning! Thali and Minuâs sets are so yummy

We were lucky to spot this restaurant on Tripadvisor being right around the corner of our hotel. We wanted to enjoy some of the delightful meats Japan has to offer and we were not disappointed! One person on staff spoke english and explained everything for us. There is an amazing menu for 5000Â¥ which included all you can drink. Cook to your own satisfaction on the table BBQ some of the finest pieces of meat that are rich in flavour. Also the dress code was rather relaxed even if it felt more exclusive.Make sure you donât just walk by since you have to take an elevator to the 7th floor hidden in a small corridor at the corner of the street.

This place is great. It is a minute walk from the main Marugame-machi shopping strip, in downtown Takamatsu. The place offers fresh local seafood, affordable regional Sake (Jizake) from different regions of Japan, and great presentation of food that gets customers excited in lively atmosphere. Their Sashimi boat, enough to be shared by 2-3 people, presents the fresh catch of the day, and you can taylor the content of fish choice by choosing from their list. Sushi set is a great value too, and so are the Tempura. It's fun to watch them fry Tempura or prepare Sashimi/Sushi in front of you, which you can enjoy if you set at the counter. I highly recommend you try different regional Sake cold, and compare the taste - some are sweet, some are dry. A glass of Jizake for $5-6 is very reasonable considering their selection of reputable regional Sake. This is not a place to sit for hours just over a couple of drinks - this is a place to enjoy good eating with good drink. It is always packed with locals after 7:00, so go there early. The menu is in Japanese, but the staff are kind and help you out, or just point what others are eating. (Note: as with any Izakaya style place, starch such as steamed rice or rice ball do not automatically come; you need to order individually. Many locals save the starch portion until after an Izakaya visit and get some local Udon noodle elsewhere. )

the place was pretty packed on a Thursday night...I thought 700 for a small bowl of curry-udon was bit much (most places have it for 100-200 yen less)...I don't know about the noodles being anything special but the curry broth was fantastic...not too thick or too runny...pretty rare for curry broth to be good enough to sip as soup after the noodles have been slurped up...the curry-udon definitely lived up to the hype...stop by if you're in Takamatsu!

my host in Takamatsu recommended this to us but we think it was just soso. If you would like to try the chicken leg, I would recommend you to choose the "baby chicken leg" unless you really love to try another one with rough texture. not quite worth of money.

Fantastic place for lunch before visiting Ritsurin Koen. You choose small or large size udon, the cook for five seconds in the hot water bath then add chopped spring onions, pepper and tempura flakes. As you choose your size of udon you choose your topping, everything looks really good but I had gobo and sweet potato tempura which were both delicious. The place is full of local workers so you just sit a long bench tables. Make sure you return your tray when you finish. They make their own udon each day and when it is sold out the restaurant is closed. Unfortunately they are not open at night. Takamatsu is a centre for udon and this place is one of the best.

This is a bustling local restaurant with great food and a lively, friendly host who speaks English. There are a number of fish choices but the snappier and Spanish mackerel were especially delicious. You can also select various vegetable side dishes from the display, and they also have miso soup with various garnish options. It is very busy, we went there twice and the second time was a Friday and we had to wait about 10 minutes, however the service is very fast. It is a bit hard to find, it is one street off the shopping arcade, but we asked and found it without too much trouble.
