Blue Hill is classic Baltimore: oldish, medium-sized, served by skilled, hip wait staff, and serving delicious food in a pleasant, mostly contemporary atmosphere on a street corner with plenty of light and peeks at the streets. I'd go back. Nice that it's near Canton and Feels Point w/o being right in the crowded main drag. Thanks for noting if this helped; hope so.

We took our granddaughter and family to Kabuto for her 16th birthday--her choice, not ours. I call these types of restaurants food theater, with chefs flashing knives and spatulas along with wisecracks. They also squirt saké from a squeeze bottle to anyone willing to participate and flip shrimp pieces into open mouths, again if you're willing. They didn't push but I still find it uncomfortable and disrespectful. That's just me; others may find it fun. The menu is pretty standard for this type of restaurant: (fried) rice, noodles, shrimp appetizer, veggies and a choice of meats or seafoods. Most of us ordered the beef fillet and it was very tender and flavorful, though a lot of the flavor comes from a very generous sprinkling of salt or MSG (the same applies to all the dishes). If you order your fillet medium rare you'll get medium and that seems to be perfect, so order one degree of doneness less than what you actually hope to get. There's a lot of starches at the beginning and by the time the veggies are served, you're full, so try to pace yourself. And if you order fillet well done, please consider ordering chicken or shrimp instead; it will be better tasting. At the end the birthday girl got her slice of cheesecake with a candle so the evening was a success..

The General Tso's Chicken is amazing. We love everything we have tried. Pork Egg Rolls are crisp and full of flavor. Crab Rangoon's are delicious. We have tried so much and have never received bad food or service. Very friendly!!
Ok, don't be deceived. Or do, because I'm happy to never share this amazing food with any of you's!! But for real, no it's not fancy, yes it's in the back of an Asian food market, yes it's a bit cold (bring a sweater even in summer) but holy BOK CHOY this place is legit. Trang is from a small town in Vietnam, and her family owns other cafes in that country I believe. If you know Vietnamese food, you know they are serious foodies. And here is the most incredibly delicious cuisine I've had for ages. We had seafood skewers, garlic bok choy, dumplings, pad thai, summer rolls, the tofu dish (there were several of us) and I wish I could find enough words for the glory. IT WAS ALL AMAZING. They aren't hurting for business even though they are hidden away. Secret's out.
My wife and son love coming here, but I am not a fan on this location (either). I tried again today and same as the last time. The noodles were not hot the portions are disproportionate. The kids meal had the same amount of orange chicken as the the bowl for $1 cheaper with a drink and a cookie added. The bowl had lots of rice and little meat. The chicken was a lot of batter and cooked hard. Still not impressed with this place. Kitchen staff seem to always be different. Revolving door I guess.

These folks have clearly improved quality since my last review. Our pakora, chicken korma, lamb rogan josh, and garlic naan were pretty good, although the korma could have used significantly more coconut milk/cream. Service was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and, as always, we appreciated their byob policy.

The restaurant is located in a warehouse building. So the appearance is already discounted and uninviting. Inside, the restaurant resembles a large canteen, a stereotypeChinese style restaurant. It is suppose to be popular for its dim sum but there are better dim sum restaurants than this one. We had a few items delivered to us undercook on the pork and beef. The place is noisy when is packed full with diners on a Sun dim sum lunch. Been there for dinner which is less crowded but the dishes are just average. This is not cheap eats but just average cooking. I wouldn't recommend if you have to drive far to eat at this restaurant.
