Reviews on Asian food in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. The sprawling University of Wisconsin sets the tone for this college town of cafes, bookstores, brewpubs, numerous restaurants (more per capita than anywhere else in the U.S.) and a good share of cultural and historical attractions. Stunning glacial waterways make the City of Lakes one of the more picturesque state capitals in the country. More than 250 parks offer residents and tourists plenty of recreational areas to choose from. If you visit the campus, be sure to try the famous Babcock Ice Cream at Memorial Union or Babcock Hall, before or after a visit to the Elvehjem Museum of Art's collection of Greek, Roman and Egyptian antiquities. And to really get into the college spirit, head over to State Street's eclectic range of ethnic restaurants. Be sure to try the mouth-watering bratwurst sandwich on a homemade bun at State Street Brats, a student favorite. At the end of State Street, the white granite, Roman Renaissance-style Capitol dominates the skyline and offers an observation platform for views of the city and lakes.

Had lunch here on a weekend. My friend and I shared 2 special sushi roles-Ecuador and tarantula. Both were good- very flavorful and a bit spicy. Good wine selection. Good service. Would certainly return.

We arrived at 6 PM and were seated promptly. Our timing was good, the wait list appeared to start right after we were seated. The restaurant had been flooded in the torrential rains last week, but the only evidence was the removed baseboards. I shared some egg rolls as an appetizer. They were served with pickled vegetables, both were delicious. I had chicken and shrimp on rice. Both had good flavor, but the chicken was over cooked. Service was prompt and friendly. Parking is plentiful in the lot out front.

When traveling through Madison we always time our trip so we can stop for lunch at Takumi, just off I-94 on the East side of Madison in the East Towne Mall. Of course, it's lunchtime, but it's always busy. The decor is reminiscent of restaurants we've visited in Japan, and the staff is always welcoming. The lunch specials, whether you choose a bento, hibachi or various sushi/sashimi items, are fresh and reasonably priced. My favorite is the salmon skin sushi.Never disappointed.

This is how the website describes this place, âCompact cafe with eclectic decor serving Nepalese dishes with an Indian & Mediterranean twistâ.It is a medium-sized restaurant which has an updated interior. Was expecting eclectic in a cozy, older environment. Ambience was a 5 out of 10. Waitstaff only mediocre. The vast menu makes up for it: there are several choices of vegetarian or meat versions of popular dishes such as tagine, curry, kebabs, masala and more. There are also plenty of protein choices including salmon, mussels, crab, lamb, goat, pork, chicken and beef, tofu.Menu also includes small plate options of seafood, meat or vegetarian foods a la carte. Sides can be added including a few choices of bread, house salad and dal ( lentil stew) and even There are also burgers an d fries on the menu. True story. Various main meal salads are enticing. Usually, pasta, potatoes and rice accompany the proteins. Mediterranean, Indian and other seasonings were utilized well. We all had something different and no one was disappointed. Try to read the menu online before you dine. Thereâs a lot from which to choose. I would go again and do recommend Dobhan for dinner.

I asked the waitress what was best and she recommended the 3 mushrooms dish with beef. Well... the meat was tough and not a great grade, didnât care at all for the white onions in the dish and the sauce? Sort of middling. Not sweet, not salty, not even especially flavorful. Iâd keep looking.

I went to lunch at Ha Long Bay (recently re-opened after a car had plowed through front corner of restaurant, necessitating months of repair work) with a friend. As usual, the place was packed, with a 45-minute wait for a table on a Saturday afternoon. But it was well worth the wait! Our waitstaff was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly without being overly or under attentive. We enjoyed hot green tea with an appetizer of spring rolls stuffed with egg roll. These were good but not as good as we remembered from a previous trip. My dining companion opted for Squash curry with Duck, while I opted for a Vietnamese specialty (VE 6) which include tofu and a number of veggies (broccoli, red pepper, green pepper, onion) with medium seasoning. The entrees were delicious! I had enough to box up and bring home for the next day's lunch. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty and as someone who is highly allergic to MSG, I think I can safely say that they do not use it as neither dish caused a reaction on my part. We'll certainly go again, although we may try mid-afternoon on a weekday.

We wanted a lake view for dinner. When I drove up to the main entrance, I was sure that there could not be a lake view, since the entrance was surrounded by tall buildings. We walked behind our server through this cavernous restaurant. We sat outside on a balcony that was at least three stories above the lake. Fabulous views. Our Italian food was delicious. The Chianti was fairly priced. A memorable evening.
