Ate here one night during a recent visit to Lille. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy Thai. The food was excellent along with the service. The starters were cooked perfectly and the main courses (especially the Pad Thai and Thai Red Curry) were well cooked and not too hot. Recommend you book in advance as many people turned away that hadn't booked.

EN/FRWe went there for lunch in the middle of the week. We were the only customers, so we were served quite quickly.The waitress is nice and accommodating.All three of us ordered the same main course (Pad Thai), except I had the vegetarian version while my friends had the shrimp one.The plates hold a good quantity of food. I did not find tasty enough though. It lacks some spices in the preparation (they do put some red pepper to sprinkle on top).We shared a mango sticky rice for dessert, it was nicely presented and with a very tasty coconut cream but the dessert itself once again was a bit bland.The setting of the restaurant is very nice and maybe I'll give it another chance to try some of their other main courses but will not return for the Pad Thai.Thank you for this comment!

Depuis quelque temps (?) le restaurant s'est agrandi, apporté un coup de fraîcheur et redisposé le buffet qui présente en 2018 un buffet plus grand, plus achalandé, plus accessible. Au coup de feu du midi, l'attente au grill est raisonnable. Si le restaurant travaille avec les zones commerciales et professionnelles des environs, l'accueil des familles n'est pas négligé. Bon restaurant asiatique sans surprise.

Passed by as it was closed for the afternoon and decided to return for dinner. Read that there have been queues before so luckily we grabbed a table for two prime dinner time as a walk-in.Cosy and relaxing space. Beautiful, minimalistic interiors and great service. Quality of the fish was super. Salmon and tuna a highlight. The tuna tartare for sure was a favourite. The set meals looked great (also a vegetarian option), although we opted for a-la-carte to share. Rolls weren't too heavy on the rice and the fish in the rainbow roll was designed beautifully. Great great dinner and desserts looked wonderful too although we were too stuffed to try. Great value for price.Would highly recommend and definitely go again. Suggest to make a booking ahead for larger groups as tables are limited.

Went there with 4 friends a few weeks ago. The restaurant is lovely and the staff very welcoming. Aoyama offers one Ichiju sansai menu (so basically, you chose one soup + 3 small dishes) served with one bowl of rice. All dishes are pre-cooked and served when ordered.We all ordered one menu with a (homemade) dessert. Since we were 5 and ordered different dishes I had the opportunity to taste almost everything that night: food quality varied a lot between dishes, ranging from good to below average. Desserts (Yuzu tiramisu) was good. What does not vary is the quantity which is extremely small for all dishes. Given that the menu costs 15⬠(without drinks or dessert), I felt very frustrated when I left the restaurant having eaten a menu I did not really enjoy, and I was still hungry and ready to go somewhere else for a second dinner (ended up having a snack later that night).I was very enthusiastic when I found out that this restaurant opened, finding good (and actual) japanese food is virtually impossible in Lille ... I was looking forward to trying this restaurant and ended up hugely disappointed. The five of us were. We might have been unlucky that night, but I won't risk to give it another go.I encourage the owners in their effort to bring real japanese food in Lille, but I also strongly encourage them to find a way to make bigger portions. This place seems to have a bit of success which is good for them, and I hope it will encourage other/different japanese restaurants to open in the future.PS: if you are curious about japanese toilets and never had the opportunity to experience one, they have one. As an Asian currently living in Singapore where your taste buds are trained to appreciate only the good kind of Asian food, I must admit that I am often wary of Asian food being prepared and served in restaurants outside of the region. However, not too long ago while visiting in-laws in the northern part of France, we were treated to lunch at Monsieur Wok - which they claim to be the closest to authentic Asian delights they could find in this side of France at least. So we went and I must say that we were pleasantly surprised by the food, the wide range of choices (it's a buffet, so yes, plenty of options for your particular gastronomic whim) and the price. The restaurant itself is quite spacious with a lot of tables for small to big groups. It's also kid-friendly, as we were there with our 17-month old baby who loved the garlic frog legs to bits! Depending on what you fancy, you can either have the already-cooked dishes and they usually have some Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese etc dishes to choose from. Or, you can take their fresh ingredients - some uncooked meat, fish, vegetables, noodles - and have the chef cook them for you as per your preference. When we were there, we noticed that all tables were occupied and more people were arriving as some were leaving, so I reckon that they have amassed some good following from residents in the area. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case because it's good value for money.
