Our family always enjoys the food and friendly service at this local restaurant. The sushi is amazingly fresh and consistently delicious. The tempura is crispy and tasty and the miso soup is among the best we've ever eaten.

Ideally located on Central Park Avenue with parking spaces in the rear of the restaurant. We were warmly greeted with a bow and "namaste" and seated immediately. The menu is mostly Indian and Mongolian but Asian influences were also present. It is a white-table-cloth environment with soothing music in the background and subtle lighting; there is not much of an ambiance outside the storefront window. The service was first-rate, the food prepared fresh and at the right temperature and we most enjoyed our dining experience at the Jewel!

Surprisingly good!ive been leaving on hastings for over 10 years and always sobbing the local restaurants but this restaurant was a pleasant surprise! I went because invited for a farewell dinner: Service excellent, waiters super nice, kids friendly, fast service, and honestly good Jap cuisine. Try the Tina Tatako!

We offer hibachi tables(chef comes out and cooks in front of guests, great for kids!) We also offer sushi, and other hot food.
Its one more example of an overrated place. This restaurant is absolutely mediocre from all points: food, decor, service. Thank do not understand how it got so many stars. Hibachi was done absolutely without any creativity, fried rice, vegetable were absolutely mediocre, meat was ok. We will never come back, we will NOT recommend that place, there are much much better hibachi restaurants around

Iâve eaten at Sambal several times and consistently find that it misses the mark each time. The Pad Thai is flavorless. The crispy vegetable spring rolls are greasy. The curry is one-dimensional (i.e. all heat). I would prefer more subtlety to bring out the complex flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine. Aside from 5e food, I also wish the restaurant had a bit more ambience. Asian music inside. Umbrellas outside. It has so much potential. All of that said, I really donât think Iâd go back until it adjusts its menu to cater to people who appreciate all that Southeast Asian food has to offer.
Nice small restaurant. Park across the street. Some good little starters such as tempura, shumai, edamame. Miso ramen was excellent. The broth was tasty, thick enough, and not too salty. We over ordered and had to take home the boneless galbi. Nice Japanese-Korean food. We didnt pick from nice alcohol selection. Next time. Carolina was out server and very friendly.

Have been here a few times and am always pleasantly surprised by the quality of his fish and his inventive appetizers. We had a quartet of Kumamoto Oysters with a delicious dashi mignonette, octopus salad, yellowtail over soba, and a while mackerel (pictured). All delicious. Also a mix of sushi and sashimi of excellent quality. This is no compromise place, itâs as good as anything youâd find in the city. We're delighted to keep pleasantly surprising you, Robert. Thank you for the wonderful review! We hope to see you again soon.Warm wishes,Sushi Mike's
