We popped in on a quiet Wednesday evening without a reservation to be greeted by a friendly and efficient waitress who showed us to a table by the window. We ordered: poppadoms & pickle tray, Rumiâs Special Platter Starter for Two, Chicken Dupiaza, Chicken Chilli Masala, Egg Fried Rice, Mushroom Pilau Rice and a Garlic Naan. The restaurant is unlicensed so we had water with our meal. The food arrived at a good pace and it was all freshly cooked to order. It was piping hot and delicious. The portions are generous and we just about managed to finish it all. All this was about £40, good value for the quantity and quality of food.

My wife and I have been visiting Spice Venue for many years. Unfortunatley due to ill health it is a liitle while since we have been able to visit, but returned again last night, and enjoyed an excellent meal!! Good friendly service, and excellent curry!! We look forward to visiting again soon, and highly recommend this jewel of a restaurant in Consett!!

Came to eat in Trafalgar as we heard great reviews. I am a very picky eater and always speak my mind hence the family name of the bad critic. We were welcomed in by Amdad who is the owner( we did not know this before) but with his humbleness he prefers being known as the manager of the restaurant. Polite and well mannered, we were sat at our table. Deco looks fantastic and colour scheme was perfectly balanced.Promptly our drinks order were taken and brought to the table, followed by being asked to have any poppadoms and pickles to nibble on while we take our time to order. Service with a smile is all we need.We ordered our food and 15 minutes later, starters came out. Bhuna Prawn on Puree was perfectly spiced to my liking and my partners chicken chatt went down a storm. So far so good. The mains arrived shortly after we finished our starters. They managed to make the curry exactly how I want with less ingredients that I didn't like and added extra meat and chillies. The rice and naans were amazing. Fresh made rice can be tasted straight away and It was definitely fresh. Naan was soft and perfectly made. They do a buffet night every Thursday so that will be something I would like to go to.Amdad was attentive at all times and not over bearing. Made sure we were comfortable throughout the night. Absolutely wonderful service 10/10. Delicious Food 10/10

Heard about The Pavillion for years, but never got around to going.Went on Saturday night. Booked the day before with no issues and taken straight to our table on arrival as the bar was full - not a problem as we had a 10 year old with us who was hungry.Service very good, lots of staff around and menus given, food and drink orders placed very promptly and efficiently.Unfortunately it was the food itself which failed to blow me away - their was nothing wrong with it at all - indeed the Salt & Pepper King Prawn starter was excellent, but based on the reputation I had heard of, and what I felt was quite an expensive menu, I left feeling underwhelmed, which was a shame. £70 for two starters, two rice and three mains and three drinks felt steepI will not rule out returning, but I wonât be rushing back.
