Stopped here for lunch on 11/15, place was almost empty, only 2 other tables occupied. We were seated, gave our drink order (2 waters and 2 coffees), perused the menu and decided on the Bread Bowl Clam Chowder. The clam chowder was $10 each and the coffee was $3.50 each. Total out the door after tax was $29.05. Food was palatable and service was OK. We looked for a different place to eat the next day.Restrooms are located inside the saloon area.

Arriving for a late lunch, we were quickly seated but completely ignored afterwards. As we sat there waiting for water, menus or even a good afternoon; we saw the two servers scrambling around, looking confused, disappearing for lengthy periods and doing everything possible to avoid eye contact to avoid our requests. We waited patiently for quite some time but we realized the other guests, there long before us, were just beginning to be taken care of as body language and squirming kids told the story and, without our presence ever be acknowledged once seated, we walked out and went elsewhere (where we were served promptly).

Visiting Virginia City in April on a Monday it quickly became apparent that dinner options were limited. Taking the recommendation of a bartender at the Bucket of Blood Saloon we headed to the Cider Factory. I had the smoked ribeye steak and partner had the tenderloin, both were exceptionally tasty and perfectly prepared. Our waitress was very attentive even though she was serving a nearly full dining room. The mashed potatoes and the twice baked potato were very good. Veggies were zucchini, yellow squash and asparagus freshly cooked; tender but not overdone. Sorry to say no room for dessert . Prices were very reasonable given the quality and quantity!

We had breakfast here twice. Was great both times. They had a special of venison blueberry bratwurst sausage with their breakfast meal of eggs, sourdough toast and homemade pan fried potatoes. Their coffee was good too. They opened at 6:00 AM. Would recommend this place for breakfast.

There were 3 of us. We went for an early lunch, got in there about 11am. I had the Bison Burger as it was on special. One friend got the Cheddar Dip with a side salad. The other got the regular Burger with side salad. Beers weren't bad at $4 each. The bison burger was cooked perfectly. The cheddar dip was superb. Service was great. At 11am there was only us and a couple other tables. By 11:30am it was completely full so go early or go late.

We live about 5 miles from Virginia City, and loyally went to CdR every week. The chips began to be served cold, the Margharita's were lukewarm. One evening we stood in the vestibule talking to a couple of out oft owners, who were whisked away from us and seated by the waitress. Not a word of acknowledgement to us that we would be seated next The restaurant was nearly empty. Artie, the proprietress, was wiping a table risible to us right through the doorway. she looked at us, through us, without any recognition or offer to seat us. We turned and walked out. Haven't been back since You know who we are, Artie, and we spent at least $800.00 a year, and were treated like a nuisance.
