I recently travelled to Ohio to visit family. I always try to fit in a trip to Coldwater Cafe. This trip I hit the jackpot and visited the restaurant three times! I had the salmon salad but subbed out the dressing for the delicious cucumber dill dressing that is so fabulous. Another time I had the steak salad. That was so delicious that I had to go back to have it again! We managed to eat outside on a lovely day, in the vault, and in the dining room. I highly recommend this restaurant. The desserts are also wonderful and creative!

The tavernette is noted for their fish and prime rib they have a great old toy display that surrounds the restaurant good food in the wait staff is courteous and kind makes you feel welcome

Studebakerâs is a family owned and ran restaurant that serves breakfast or dinner they have the most amazing breakfast ever from their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches on Bedard whole wheat toast got to love that to their amazing home fries, this place is amazing absolutely adore the waitstaff and love going in there to watch all of the old people who gather in the morning to have breakfast it is such a worthwhile place to spend a lazy morning.

Very friendly staff at the front first of all and reminds me of an old-fashioned diner. It was busy but fast; we waited about 15 minutes and there was a full lobby. Secondly, they make their own bread. How any diners still do that? Hubby liked their french toast. I liked their broasted chicken. I did not particularly care that the sides was luke warm but i was so hungry that I pretty much at it anyway. It would have been best if it was the same temperature as the chicken but overall it was good. It is the only reason why I gave it an average rating. Fairly large menu and will come back again to give it another try.

The service was excellent. We had a young wright State University college masters degree student that could not have been better.I had the 10" deluxe pizza which was excellent. My wife had a chicken sandwich made especially for her as it was not an menu item. Very good.Three of our friends shared a toco pizza and loved it. One friend had the Reuben sandwich which looked delicious to me and he said it was very good. He eat it all and it looked huge. Another friend had the grilled cheese and fries. He said it was very delicious. All in all, we had a wonderful time in a great and friendly restaurant with very friendly and great service.I highly recommend.

Hoping my visit was an exception to the rule. Got the lunch special. Pulled bbq chicken was dry. Bun was dry. At least it was easy to avoid and save calories. Green beans ok, but underseasoned. Mashed potatoes no better than school cafeteria. Soda machines broken so had to resort to iced tea. Stopped drinking when struck by mildew flavor. Sorry, since I really wanted to like this place.Hi Cindy,Iâm so sorry. We will look into the issues with the food. The soda machine went down that morning, and we were waiting on Pepsi to come out and fix it. We apologize, and will address your other concerns with our staff. I truly hope you will try Hickory River again, as we never want to lose a customer. Thank you.
