Came to Alabama from Wisconsin and had barbecue on the itinerary. We were not disappointed at the tin top bar-b-que! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and fast! We had HUGE pork sandwiches that were awesome! Highly recommend the banana pudding! Itâs a little out of the way but worth the drive!
This place knows Country Good Food. My boyfriend was looking for a good burger and friend recommended this cafe. HE LOVED IT. I had the 3 veggie plate with Fried Tomatoes, Okra, and Onion Rings... The people in that kitchen knows what they are doing. Service was nice and prompt... Can't wait to return and try the wings.
See what the Colonel's cooking at your local KFC. Stop in today and enjoy our world famous chicken - it's Finger Lickin' Good!
I have actually contacted the national office about this place because they are ALWAYS out of something, but most of the time it's chicken. I have tried to go there 4 times at 1pm (not an off time) for grilled chicken, but they say it will be a 20 minute wait for them to cook the chicken. Last time I was there, they were out of chicken tenders. Really, KFC? The people who work there are rude and almost seem mad to even have to help you. I wish corporate office would get in here and fix the place because I love the grilled chicken.
Wife and I have been eating at Main Street since day 1. The staff is very friendly, just like family to us. MST has a good varied menu. Owners add new items in a timely manner. The occasional "special" is really good. Great consistency with dishes.
We're Always Cookin' There's something about a freshly made meal, prepared just for you. Maybe it's a waffle sundae to celebrate the day you get your braces off, or a plate full of loaded hash browns after a Saturday morning soccer game. Whatever the occa
This place opens all day long. They have one cook and two servers so that don't expect fast food when they are busy. However their staff is very friendly.
We were on our way home the American Village. We stopped with 5 our our cadets and 3 officers. I expected a lot more of Jack. This place was semi nasty. Lots of flies inside, tables that were not cleaned and not enough staff to man the cash registers. Not even so much as thank you or anything even though we were in full military uniform. The flies bothered me the most, why are they inside the Jacks and that is why I said it was nasty. Food was good, but compared to other jacks this place was nasty, and understaffed.

Overall, Shelby County has tons of chain restaurants but not enough locally owned places. Main Street Tavern is an exception. Uniquely local and always friendly, this is a popular place among everyone from college students to young families and seniors. Thereâs a different menu for lunch and dinner. Weâve only been for dinner, and we go there frequently because the recipes are fantastic (try the seared salmon! or the deconstructed shepherdâs pie! or the steak and shrimp!), and the owners and staff are great. Plus, the prices are more than reasonable. Get there early for shortest wait times. Get there late for a beverage or food well after other places close.
