I am a local and frequent it fairly regularly. Food is OK and inexpensive, drinks are reasonable, service is friendly. However, it is a sports bar, smokey, loud and with several TVs playing on different channels so it is difficult to understand the audio of any one of them.

This Hardee's, in my opinion, should be rated in the top 25% of the Hardee's Restaurants I have patronized across this country. Coffee is somewhat bitter, but then, that is a matter of individual taste and the fact I like it black. sandwiches are good and well prepared, service is about average for a fast food.

Friends and I eat breakfast there six days per week and lunch quite often. Food is very good, with ample portions and the prices are reasonable. The owner Tammie and her staff are always friendly and efficient. If you like very good food, served efficiently, with a smile and at a reasonable price, I just don't believe you can beat the Backyard BBQ. Don't let the name fool you, they have BBQ + most anything else you want.

Backstreet Cafe

We had the Friday night special, stir fried steak and vegetables over rice. Steak was Ribeye. When asked what vegetables was told tomatoes, mushrooms, squash, broccoli. Wife ordered the same. Price was $13.95 each. I had a half of a mushroom the size of a nickel and the tomato was the size of a quarter and a few slices of broccoli and some squash. It looked like the chef was running out of vegetables so he split the vegetables between my wife’s order and mine. Must of been 2 cups of rice in each of our plates. But the guy in the next table who ordered the same thing after us had vegetables stacked high over his rice. Why? The steak was tough. He should have used some sesame oil while cooking since the meal had no taste. Quite bland. And we received no soy sauce but a half cup of a thick molasses thick of a thai sauce homebrew mixture which was sickening sweet. One bite using this dipping substance was put aside for no further consumption. Obviously this restaurant is a hobby for the owner/chef and should not charge $13.95 just because it’s called The Special. He should go to cooking school.

Tried this place for the first time. Bread is very good! They put a generous amount of meat on their sandwiches. Will definitely try them again.
