This Bar and Grill may actually be listed as an Alexandria, MN business, FYI, but its mailing adress appears to be Glenwood, MN . A nice establishment/setting with deck overlooking the lake and what looked to be a fair priced menu. Clean inside, but banquet style tables and chairs. Seems to attract a wide variety crowd- young, old, family. HOWEVER, not so enthusiastic service and it was kinda slow. Never checked back to see if our drinks were satisfactory; in fact, we had to summon the waitress to complain. REALLY watered-down drinks which tasted only of the mixes, Nothing Else. Will consider giving it one more try to see the facility in better weather (rainy, not able to enjoy the deck) and figure out if our experience with wait staff and if bar service was not the usual way things are done.
Finally a great spot for good coffee and tasty food in downtown Glenwood, MNNo need to drive 15 miles or more. Thumbs up!

My family and I stopped for breakfast after staying at a different hotel... By mistake. Won't make that mistake again. And the breakfast was delicious! My 13 year old son loves French toast and he had never had it with powdered sugar on it before and he loved it :-) My husban enjoyed his meal as well. As for mine, those were the best hash browns I've ever had!! We will Absolutely be back!

This restaurant serves very good basic food. We attended a large banquet here and while the staff pulled off the event very well, the food was nothing more than basic good. Roast beef (or ham), carrots (overcooked) and potatoes. Salad was very small and also very basic. The atmosphere is great as it overlooks the lake, but having eaten here several times over the many years I've visited Glenwood, there is just nothing extremely positive about it. We have also eaten off the menu and my comments are the same...good, basic food.
Both the home cooking and the reasonable prices bring me back here. Nothing unique or special except that it is obvious the kitchen cares about what they are serving and both the portions and prices are so much better than a Perkins or Denny's. It is also attached to a bakery so I am pretty sure that accounts for the excellent nature of its breadstuffs. A fine place to go for breakfast or lunch and aptly named as well.

My spouse and I went there on a Friday night. I wouldn't classify the young waitress as overly friendly but the service was decent. They are apparently known for wings. I wouldn't classify as best wings ever but overall food was good and would recommend. Restaurant is clean with good views.

We were driving by Lake Minnewaska and discovered the Lakeside Steak and Chop House. What a discovery! The building is fairly new as the original building burned down in 2003. One side of the establishment is a ballroom that hosts banquets and the other side is a restaurant that offers great views of the lake. There are tables outside for warm weather guests and an inside bar that also overlooks the lake.Number One wife ordered a Caesar Salad which needed a little more dressing. Our server, Dawn, saw my wife's wave and was quick to come to the table and then return again with more dressing. I had the daily Fish Fry platter with fried potato wedges and a side of above average potato salad, (Thought I was back in Ireland for a second due to all the potatoes coming my way.)There is a good selection of adult beverages, Dawn was helpful in finding a beer that I would like and brought a sample. Number One had a wine which many restaurants don't offer.Beautiful view, decent food, good service and fair prices. Will return.
