The Hawaiian island of Maui is a destination for true nature lovers. The ethereal bamboo forest and churning waterfalls in Haleakala National Park can be explored via the Waimoku Falls Trail. Stretch out on warm, golden sands or hit the surf for an unforgettable windsurfing or snorkeling session. Driving the scenic road to Hana along the island’s northeastern shore will be among the most spectacular journeys of your life. Time stands still at the Hawaiian village of Keanae, definitely worth a visit.

I signed up on a whim for our family of 5, which includes a 5yo, 3yo, and 2yo. I was hoping for one decent picture and ended up with around 40! Our photographer, Will, was very accomadating and professional. Pictures were available for viewing the next day and there was zero pressure to purchase. We will definitely use Blinnk again!

Absolutely Stunning Hotel

We knew we didn’t want to drive the road to Hana in one day so we decided to stay the night. There wasn’t a wide selection of hotels so I was a little shocked at how much we were going to be spending for the night. But after staying I understand the cost. The hotel had everything. I almost felt like we were glamping. The room had a very rustic modern feel. The views were unbelievable. They have 2 pools, tennis courts, chip/put, basketball etc. Kind of wish we stayed more than 1 night to make use of all the amenities! The only con is that when we check in in at 6:30pm our room wasn’t ready yet.

Great place but a bit of confusion

Reviewed By jamiesF509XZ

Stayed for 10 nights at the end of May 2022. Booked 3 nights in the tower with an ocean view and 7 nights in one of the oceanfront cottages. The first 3 nights were good, the view was fantastic. The room itself was a bit small for a family of 4 though, there was no separation from the main room into the bathroom so no real privacy which makes it tough when you want the kids to sleep in. The beds were comfortable enough but small. After the first 3 nights we were ready to move into the cottage. We booked a deluxe oceanfront studio with is over 700 square feet and has a kitchen. Prior to arrival I had emailed the front desk a few times to confirm that we were ground floor oceanfront with a kitchen, never did they tell me that wasn't to be the case. The issue is that all of the ground floor rooms are smaller (around 375 square feet I think) and they do NOT have a kitchen. The upstairs room that they wanted to put us ion only has a small deck at the front of it which does not face the ocean. To see the ocean at all you need to look out the windows but you cant sit outside with the view which we did not want at all. After talking with the front desk we arranged to move to the smaller ground floor unit with the oceanfront patio. This is a smaller room with no kitchen so our plans to buy food to cook were out the door, we had to eat out for every meal as the ground floor unit has only a small beer fridge. We definitely got the sense that they mislead us and just want to get you there and they they deal with the issues, felt very sneaky. We got a slight discount taking the new room but nowhere near the extra we had to spend eating out. All that aside once we were settled in the ground floor room we loved it. The patio has a beautiful Ocean view and we could go from our private patio and be in the ocean in less than 30 seconds. My 12 year old actually timed it once and got there in 12 seconds running! The room is not big but the layout is better than the hotel tower as the bathroom is bigger and more private for changing without disturbing those who are sleeping. 2 double beds which is tight for a family of 4 but we made it work. The grounds are great, the restaurant is great, the drinks are great but expensive at $15 a drink. We used the pools a bit, they are fine but really nothing special. The ocean is the main draw here. It looks to be the best stretch of beach in the area, its truly awesome and the nightly sunsets cant be beat. The waves were enough where the kids could have some fun getting knocked around but nothing too crazy for the most part. Everything extra is a charge here, You want an umbrella on the beach for the day? $30...you want a 2 seater with a cover for the day? $65...etc...nothing is free here really but we knew Maui was expensive! A nice 15 minute walk one way down to Black Rock/Whalers Village area and about 20 minutes the other way to a nice stretch of hotels with bars, restaurants etc...we got around by Uber if we wanted to go farther out and it was never a problem. All in all an awesome stay but be aware of what room you are getting. I have also emailed the hotel for a detailed bill a few days ago but haven't heard back yet. Royal Lahaina can you please send me that? thanks

Our new favorite resort on Maui!

Reviewed By Coastal-Travelers

We usually stay in the Ka'anapali area of Maui but we were able to get a great rate with Hilton Honors points and some $ so decided to try the other side of the island. This property was absolutely gorgeous and closer to Maui attractions such as Haleakala and the road to Hana. The beach was just as beautiful as the other side of Maui and the area around the resort seemed quieter. We knew that the resort did not provide areas for self-parking and we expected valet to be expensive but $65 per day seems a bit extreme, especially when the parking garage is on their property and uses their resort staff. You do need a car to truly enjoy Maui so we just accepted the price and can definitely compliment the efficiency and friendliness of their staff. We were upgraded to a Deluxe Ocean View King and greeted with fresh flower leis upon arrival (probably because I told Reservations that it was our 20th anniversary). Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean with plenty of big, fluffy towels and wonderful bath amenities. This resort still provides daily housekeeping service and it was flawless. We were a bit concerned about the ongoing renovations mentioned in other reviews but it was really not an issue. The main dining room is still closed so if you must have a full buffet breakfast, you might want to wait a few more months. The Cafe Kula (Grab-n-Go) had a great selection of reasonably priced pastries and fruit that we enjoyed on the lanai of our room each morning. The Keurig coffee maker and refrigerator in our room made this very convenient. The Botero Lounge in the lobby had just re-opened the day we arrived and that was the perfect spot for a light Sushi dinner after a day of travel. The staff were all wonderful and it was great fun to sit at the bar and watch the Sushi Chef in action. Some of the wines were a bit overpriced but the sushi was reasonable and delicious. The Spa was also still under construction but they have converted one wing of guest rooms and done a great job to create a spa atmosphere with candles and over-the-top service. My pedicure was one of the best ever and no more expensive than my spa at home. All of the outdoor areas are beautifully maintained and although the resort was busy, there were plenty of pool chairs and spaces on the beach.(although they could use a few more umbrellas for hot afternoons) The adult pool was large and there are so many sections to the action pool that it didn't seem crowded at all. I was surprised that the swim-up bar was located within the action pool (instead of the adult pool) but it so much fun taking the water slide down and ending up in the Grotto with the best bartenders and cocktails on Maui. This was our fifth trip to Maui and the Grand Wailea definitely made this our best vacation ever - a bit of a splurge but worth every penny. We are already saving our Hilton Honors points and marking our calendar to go back as soon as possible.
