Morocco's coastal capital since 1912, Rabat has just over a million people. Modern and even reserved by Moroccan standards, the city also has many fascinating historic sites, including the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas, built in the mid-12th century. The unique Hassan Tower, begun at the end of the 12th century, was meant to have the world's largest minaret, but was never completed. Just opposite the tower lies the 20th-century Mausoleum of Mohammed V, another of the city's main attractions.

We came from Belgium to discover and enjoy the authentic side of the moroccan culture and Dar El kebira Riad was an excellent experience for us. The location is just perfect to visit other must see places in the heart of the capital and itâs also close to the beach.Weâd like to thank the riadâs staff for their kindness, their help and their good sens of humour, and especially Miss Samhae Moussahal for her hospitality and her practical suggestions. The food is not just delicious but presented as masterpieces and reflecting the authentic moroccan tastes, we just loved that ! The room was a typical sheherazade arabian nights space where youâll want to spend the entire day.. but you definitely should go enjoy the breakfast in the sunny rooftop ! Weâll come again for sure.. thanks Dar El Kebira ! Dear Abdel,Greetings from Dar El Kebira,Thank you for taking the time to write this beautiful review. We are very happy to know that you have enjoyed our restaurant, our Moroccan gastronomy as well as the service of our staff.Thank you!We are looking forward to welcoming you again.Faithfully yours,

Dispite other reviews we were treated fairly by the staff. Food and juices we got were good, but portions are indeed very small. I would recommend it if youâre not very hungry. Prices are reasonable!

This restaurant is on the main drag in the medina and is a sanitised place to eat inexpensive street food. It is relatively clean and tidy with a glass front looking out on the street vendors. Service was good and the food is cheap and okay - nothing sensational.

I went for dinner here based on a number of recommendations. First impressions are good - the decor and atmosphere is imaginative old Morocco with a musician playing the lute sedately and dim lighting, lanterns and candles illuminating the terracotta-coloured walls, old artefacts and items of mystique - seems ideally set up for 1940s Moroccan romanticism. Unfortunately, that's all this place has to offer (and definitely for the tourist only). The two waiters were grim, operating pedantically and unsmiling. I had to ask for my drink a couple of times before it arrived (plonked on the table). The two of them then seemed to "hang about" in the doorway leading to the kitchen. My bowl of olives was snatched back from under my nose before I'd finished them - I asked the waiter to leave them but he didn't say a word and ignored me completely. The main course was awful - mixed meat (chicken, lamb and kofta) skewers (small and fairly tasteless), aromatic rice (small, soggy and the "aromatic" was a few peas and a pinch of spice), mixed vegetables (soggy and very metallic-tasting). This was one of the worst dishes I have had in any restaurant on my travels, not just in Morocco. On top of all this the menu is very expensive - geared to tourists - I expected much more. This is a tourist lure which has only a romantic atmosphere to offer - forget about the food and the service.

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and as it was close to our hotel we decided to try it. It was a great choice, the food was excellent, especially the desserts. And reasonably priced too.Merci

What a place! Amazing atmosphere and excellent food and as expected, a very good and friendly service! Slightly pricy (well below than EU standard) compared to other places, but absolutely worth. Carfeul if you just stop by for dinner, not AVLB all nights and reservation for dinner only is suggested.
